Intake Question
Intake Question
I know it has been posted time and time again but I want to hear from ones to have went from an airbox mod to a full intake. What I am asking is if it is worth it for me to get a full intake or just keep my airbox that is opened up with a AEM Dryflow. I have a 2.9" pulley, gm stage 2 tune, zzp downpipe with cat, gm catback, and an ingalls. I saw I could get a Rebel intake for 250 shipped I believe for just the piping (I can put my dryflow on it). Do you guys think I would notice the increase (if there would be one) or should I just keep my airbox mod how I have it. It def. whines pretty good but I don't want to spend 250 bucks more for a little more sound. If there is a good power increase with it I would consider it. Let me know what you guys think.
If you vote just please let me know why you feel I should go that route. So far I am leaning towards the Rebal because it is a full 3". I will not be getting re-tuned so I need to make sure it will work well with the stage 2 tune.

i removed my airbox for the gmpp intake. and i shoulda gotten the injen but ooh well. yeah i think its cheaper and looks better. the gmpp one im thinking about somehow converting it take out that box thing. and making my tube longer and just throw that filter on there in the fender i dont know.
or route a tube from the front up to the box so it gets more ram air effect i dont know to lazy.

injen. i have NEVER had a problem with mine, no cel's no nothing... and it sounds amazing. just when you install check your hood clearance to the intake piping, and adjust accordingly.
Fujita is way to over priced I wouldn't even bother, AEM is a good up grade from stock but dosn't come with the pipeing. I wouldn't think you would need a 3inch pipe and don't think its going to make much diff since the AEM is only 2.5. Not to mention if it will fit I have an injen and it rubs on the wheel well and on the hood at first don't know if there will be much room for a 3inch. I know with the injen CAI the SS/SC dyno around 230 whp witch if the stock 205 bhp is true with just the CAI thats like around a 40 hp gain.
lol the stock whp is wrong.. its rated for that but thats not what it makes... it actually makes alittle more than 205.. ive seen some higher stock... so i mean it depends.. im a 2.2 but ive talked to guys with the 2.0 and the injen and they love it! No problems
Except that the average SS/SC puts down about 215whp stock. And no aftermarket intake will net you more power then the stock intake with the airbox mod. Only things the aftermarket intakes do is remove the dampening on the supercharger (more engine whine) and look pretty.
I had an airbox mod with AEM dryflow.
performance wise when i went to the K&N Typhoon there may have been a change but it was unnoticable.
sound wise it did get louder.
look at the stock piping. its already a CAI. give it a quality high flow filter, and open up its air access, and you have exactly what they are selling for $200

If I had a 2.0, I'd probally go with Fujita. My gf has a Fujita CAI on her '05 Tiburon V6 and it looks, fits and sounds awesome. Plus you get some goods (hat, NOS energy drink) with it which never hurts. My 2nd choice would be the K&N b/c K&N is tried and true, and a local guy (Pieeater) has it on his 2.0 and likes it a lot.
I'm in the same boat, running the airbox mod right now and im thinking about an aftermarket prob the rebel because i have to when I put on the LS4 throttle body, i know the stock piping wont match up to that
