Post Intense Stage 4

Is anyone here running an Intense Racing stage 4 or 5 kit?

I just want to know what you think about the kit and how much you have to shave down the snout to get that 2.7" pulley on.... Do I have to bring the snout to a metal shop?

I'm planning on doing the stage 4 next month. Thanks guys

Regardless of what people will tell you, I enjoy my Intense stage 3 kit a lot, and if you do intense stage 4, you send them your supercharger snout first, and they send you a machined one back. Now i'm what i'd say stage 3 and a half, haha. 2.8" pulley and 60's instead of the 2.7"

You don't exactly 'have' intense stage 3 anymore. Sure you have the parts but not the tune. The tune makes or shall I say 'breaks' that kit.

What did you just get the PCM or was it part of the ZZP kit?

The thing about the ZZ kits is that they are very expensive, especially for the stage 4 (around $900 US)

I can get an Intense kit for about $450 US for the parts I need.....

I wouldn't run their tune. I know of cars personally who blew up on it.

The reason cars blew up, is because Intense were some of the first people to mess with the LSJ. People were doing crazy things like a 2.7" w/ no cooling mods.

No one really " blew up their car" because of Intenses tunes, people were pushing the limits in the early days of LSJ, they were the only ones to try, then when someone cracked a ringland, it was intenses fault.

I would go with the OTT kit myself.

Thing is, Intense has a rough past, You may get one and it be fine, Or you could get one and it blow the motor, It seems it has gone both ways.

But with OTT (or even zzp for that matter, Even though i wouldnt recommend them), There isnt cars having valid problems, Not one. So why risk it?

IMO Go with what works, Not what "should" work.

I bought intense stage 3 kit and lived with it for a while. However I had it retuned with hptuners and am much happier. The Intense tune was very inconsistent. Everything else they sell works just fine.

These are people who ran only the intense kit, with no other mods blowing their cars up. It's the tune. Now if these were some 18 year old kids driving and blowing their cars up I might believe you.

The parts are great. They're not gonna do anything. I ran Intense Parts for a long time, and still recommend getting them to people. I just wouldn't run the tune...

Okay, so I'll take everyones advice about Intense and look deeper into an OTT kit. But I have just one question about OTT, do they have specific kits or do you have to figure out a pulley/injector/PCM tune combo yourself.?

I looked on the OTT site and ony found a Stage 1 kit good for 240 hp.

Because I'm running a GM Stage 2 right now (good for about as much hp as this kit offers), and if I'm going to drop 450 US on my engine I want to see an obviously significant improvement in performance then the stage 2 kit

The only difference from the OTTP kit and intense stage 4 is the pulley size, you will make around the same hp with either kit, but the tune from OTTP is much safer and more reliable.

Thats good, but is it an improvement from the Stage 2 I currently have? Does anyone have any 1/4 mile times.... and can you get OTT to tune the kit for a 2.7 pulley instead?

Intense claims 265 WHP and this one claims around 245 not including supporting (which for me would probably be 260 ish) mods. I don't really want to drop that much cash for a mild improvement...

But ya, keep the comments coming, this thread is helping me alot in making up my mind... Thanks guys
