BooSSted, was your stock dyno done at the same place and do you know if the GM Stage 2 car that was dynoed had any other mods besides Stage 2?

on that 2.7 pulley u should be pushing 260-265 whp

guys on the redline forums are pushing 260 with stage 1 and 2.8 pulley, with intake and exhaust.

numbers

i think that the dyno you went to is giving low torque numbers.
they look low across all the different kits and levels.

Could the belt be slipping?

What has not been mentioned is that you are not actually tuning your car with the Intense Stage anything. The HPTuners software is being used as a generic tune. If you were able to actually have it tuned using HPTuners, on a dyno then quite likely you would be getting results based on your car alone.

Those are the numbers I was expecting. My stock numbers are pretty much identical to yours. The only difference I can see is that you have a smaller pulley and exhust but I don't see that making a 30hp difference.

According to his sig he has the Intense Stage 5 PCM and 60lbs/hr injectors.. stil u can tell Intense what u have for mods and they adjust it accordingly.. not total accurate but close.. i'm thinkng if he's still on the stock belt without the tensioner and running a 2.70" pulley i'm thinking that the reason he's not making any more power after a certain rpm or just having low numbers that it may be possible that the belt is slipping

If you have a certain sets of mods on a production engine there is no reason you would need anything other than an out of the box tune.

I have a bigger Idler pulley. The belt is not slipping because the boost isn't dropping at all. I was hitting 18psi at redline on the dyno.

If you did not do the boost bypass mod then you would run ~17lbs of boost to ~6000rpms and then loose to ~12lbs of boost. That could be why power peaked out. If so try it with boost bypass mod and you should gain a lot of higher end power!

The only thing i could attribute to the lower tq number is some heat soak.
All in all great Car !!
No problem Jim...when I get the GM Stage 1 kit and 2.85" inch on I'm coming back to see you and I'll put your dyno numbers to the test. However, this time I want AF ratios read as well. I'll see you soon!!

Actually it doesn't. The boost bypass is disabled with the Intense ECU. I saw 18psi right to redline

Very good BooSSted, I was waiting for someone to clarify that. I don't know what to say about your numbers. They don't seem to add up but I'm sure there is a reason. I don't know if it's the Dyno or your car but I would really hope it's the dyno. If you say your car rips then let's hope it's the dyno, however I did drive a Stock Cobalt SS with just Plugs and a 3.14 pulley that seemed to rip pretty good?!? The only other idea I have to help is, if you really do have a stage 5 PCM and the 2.7 Pulley, then maybe that PCM is burnt with a fuel map and ignition curve to handle the increased boost of the smaller pulley. I'd be intersted in seeing you AF ratios through the run to see how rich they'd get at points. Like I said man, If your happy then thats all that matters but to support your quest for higher numbers, i've read 5 or more dyno sheets of the stage 4 all making from 260min up to 280ish depending on mods with all the tq #'s being 250-265ish.
Oh, one more thing... Getting air in and out on a forced induction engine is critical so look at a CAI and a good exhaust and see if that helps. I have the Magnaflow system and I love it! Fit great, Sounds crazy and I definitely noticed a diference in acceleration and throttle response. Sorry for the super long post, just wanted to help

I think my main problem on the dyno was heak soak. I did the pull in 4th gear and it just takes too long to get to redline with our long gears. The next time I go back to the dyno I am going to try and run it in 3rd gear and see what sort of difference that makes. As for the ECU, The Stage 4 and the Stage 5 ECU are the same thing so I am sure I am running a little rich with the 2.7" Pulley. I am going to have to get another dyno done with an A/F reading so I can see exactly what's happening

I'm going to see Jim this Thursday - not sure if you're available but it would be nice to hook up to see the difference in dyno's - Intense vs GMPP Stage kit

281 whp and 266 torque is what i look foward to!! I will purchase INTENSE S-4 w/2.6" this week and praying for numbers like that. All I have is an Air box mod and will have a Quick Time Electric Cutout (in the mail!!!). So I am hoping to see some good numbers.

What octane fuel were you running? What is the gap of your plugs?
