intercooler pump replacement
intercooler pump replacement
I got my lightning/terminator intercooler pump. Are the electrical connections the same as the stock pump, i haven't been able to take a look yet and searching has found nothing. Figured someone who has done this would know.
ps...i find it ironic that the thing to fix my car came in a ford racing box.

Ijust knew my stock pump was dead because i was seeing cruising iat2s of 140-150 and wot iat2s of 190.
Not suure, I think it was comparable to stock, i will take pics tonight when i get home from work.

I don't know what my iat2s were to begin with, bought a interceptor gauge, went drag racing, saw 190 and came on here to ask if that was normal. Then I searched to figure out if the pump was working. I'll let you guys know what it goes down to since the track is open tomorrow.
I read in a thread its just a replacement.

if its what i think they may be they squeeze off...there should be metal prongs on the top or the clamp spaced out a litle bit...squeeze them together....if its even what im thinking it is
yeah they squeez off, but the are glue in place on the hose too so you cant just easily squeeze and slide, you have to squeeze the clamp and yank the hose off at the same time, take some elbow grease
i changed mine a few months back.
all you have to do is get a good grip in the hose an pull.
the stock innercooler pump an the inlet an outlet where the hose are connect.
they have a little lip that is a bitch to pull off
but theres no glue an no clamps...
well on mine there were no clamps i dont know about the newer model over 05
i will try an find my old pump if i didnt throw it away to show you the lip that you have to try an pull the hose over

right, they had a dab a glue on mine that kept the clamp in that spot though, you couldnt just squeeze and twist like you can with the clamps on the vacuum hoses, was a bitch

i can squeeze them all the way, but can't rotate or pull off. I'm taking a break, my hands hurt from holding the clamps open.
I bent the clamps squeezing them together...so i cut the hoses right after the clamps. There was enough slack to put the hoses over the new pump. Filled the coolant back up that was lost. My cruising iats were about 35 degrees above iat, does that sound correct?
