Interest: Heat exchangers....

Okay, well I am having a custom Heat exchanger made for my car. Because I don't want to hack one in using the Cobra heat exchanger. And the CA one has a long waiting list and even longer wait time. I already paid more than half the cost of the custom heat exchanger and will have it on sunday, ready to be installed.

The shop that is creating this heat exchanger is interested if these would be something that this community is looking for? wondering if he should make more?

so let see some interest. Once i get mine on sunday i will take photo's and post them up. I will have all the specs than also.

I think a general price would help people decide.

i am going to work with him on that. and see what he wants to do with them.. when i mean lines, all i mean is the coolant lines going to and from the unit.. it should not cost that much more. i know how he is taping the unit and you can use regular npt barb fittings for get some earl fittings and steal braided lines like the CA if you wanted..

i'll have more info on it on sunday...

but for now how many people are interested in a direct bolt in heat exchanger for $250

The cobra dual pass on lfp is 250 without lines, you just need a braket from a hardware store!

Or hunt Ebay or svtperformance . com I got a cobra h/e for $50 that only had 3.5k miles on it. Brackets hand made from 4 "L" brackets, lines, and install all for $40. If you got the time or a friend to help, it's a great inexpensive mod. Otherwise, LFP is a good source for a cobra h/e.

yeah thats great, but you can't always find deals like that. Also this is a DIRECT bolt in, just like the CA one. None of the hassle with brackets, figuring out how to mount brackets to the heat exchanger (ie: zip ties is the stupidest thing i have ever heard)

i guess in the end you get what you pay for. and if quite a few people are willing to pay for it then it might be something to work out. I can probably work out all the lines and everything and sell it as a complete kit for less that cobalt addictions one and get it to you in a reasonable time..but i can't promise that right now

You keep saying direct bolt in. Do you mean it comes with brackets fabbed up on it already. Any after market heat exchanger will have to be mounted with a bracket system that isn't already on the car.

well the brakets will be there the only thing u'd have to do is just drill a hole to mount the brackets most likely.

the CA one isnt a direct bolt on. you still have to drill the bumper. you know after waiting four long months you think they could at least send some directions at least for a helpful guide.

I'm down for the heat exchanger.

I'm just looking for one that comes with brakets and braided lines for around $270.
