You can tell by their reaction that they set the dyno to read insane numbers. Plus its a mustang dyno, 518 hp on a mustang dyno is close to 600 on a dynojet.

I was just wondering how much horsepower can these engines take before you have to build them up...

If calibrated properly they both should read roughly the same. I think you sound like an idiot when you try to compare a Mustang to a DJ.

He's playing with the dyno.

The fuel and engine management system couldn't accomadate the fueling it would take to match that amount of airflow.

Stock airflow sensor maxxes near 400 crank HP. It can be changed though but I seriously doubt he did.

It is a built engine though but I think only the bottom end.

on a mustang dyno, you can make the rollers weigh 10k lbs, and the car weigh 1k lbs.

this will produce stupid high numbers.

I dyno'd on a Mustang dyno and I would only compare my car to other cars that ran on the same dyno in similar conditions.

What the hell do you mean by calibrated, though? A mustang dyno puts load on the vehicle similar to running on the street as opposed to dynojet that doesn't, that's why the numbers are lower. The only way a mustang would put out similar numbers is if you set it to add 15% to account for the loss on load. That's effectively the same thing as me saying, "I dyno'd 244/228 on a mustang, which would be apprx 280/262 on a dynojet." I don't see how you can say that "calibrated" is alright but doing the math yourself makes you look like an "idiot"...

I actually got a better result on a mustang over a dynojet once, one threw high numbers the other threw low.LOL
