just put my header on!

ok so i just installed my cti race header with the DP into the stock catback and now the car srsly runs like ****, its bogging and hesitating and throwing the cat code. is the cat code making it run like ****? or does the computer have to learn theres a new exhaust and relearn itself. or do i have to get it tuned out?
any input would be great ty

your taking your cars back pressure away so it's going to lag now. depending on what size peimaries you got and the size of the downpipe.

yeah you going to need a tune. I have the same exact header/downpipe and my car lags until like 4500rpm cuz i have no back pressure at all. I need retuned plus for my meth again. tune is the best opition.

You shouldn't be having any problems. You car is throwing a code because of the cat its a P420 code. Even throwing that code wouldn't hurt the car a lot of people run with it on. I had GM stage 2 and Ran my ZZP Midlength with a HighFlow for about 10,000 miles. My car ran great, I threw a code every now and then but i just cleared it with my interceptor. Your car shouldn't be bogging down you might wanna check what code and go from there.

This header will not cause your car to lag till 4500rpms. There must be something else wrong.

You probably need a more aggressive timing table.

Clear em and disonnect the battery for 10 min. Hard reset may help after such a change to the engine

CELs will not cause your car to run differently. Drive it around for a bit to see if it gets any better, or get it tuned (recommended).

really? cause an effed up maf circuit can cause the car to go into maf failure SD mode.

Make sure you didn't unplug any sensors or damage any thing when you were putting the header on. I'm not sure what the problems is something is not right. You shouldn't be having any of these problems after just putting a header and DP on.

word, check ur the wiring for the sensors, one might be shorting out ! or something blown, its not the header or downpipe, ive swapped so many on my car with no problems, its not the header or downpipe ! Check the top sensor on the header and check the sensor after the car and make sure u didnt twist the cables too much or cut them or melted or something like that... as far as the maf and evap codes if they weren't there before it's probably because you shorted something out...

When i swapped the engine i shorted out a ground cable which gave me like 10 different codes but yeah thats a totally different situation.

You're right. An effed up MAF circuit will make the car go into SD mode. The cel will not. It depends on why the CEL is on, but just because it is on doesn't mean your car will run any differently. For example, an insufficient catalyst code will not alter your car's performance, but a bad MAF will.
