Just say NO! to street tuning

107 in a 55....... nuff said

Reviewing the log the brakes worked pretty good. It only took a little over 4 seconds to go from 119-81 once we saw the cop.

Here is the log if anyone wants a good laugh. Worst part is I got some knock on the top end and had to pull a little timing.

You don't understand how bad I feel man. Looks like we need to rent a dyno for 2-3 hrs and toss both of ours on it and fine tune them. I'll split the time with ya, we seriously should look into that.

It was the flattest piece of interstate you could ask for. We even waited for all the cars to clear before the run. I am pretty sure thats why the cop did not take my license on the spot.

I did all my pulls on that same stretch, I just would wind out 3rd and get on the brakes hard back down to 60ish. Why did you feel the need to test 4th lol.... **** happens, what can you do.

Dont sweat it. I got my poor broke ass lawyer on my side. She said with it being my first speeding ticket in 13 years it should look good to the judge...... except for the almost double the speeding limit.

Yeah... the double thing isn't gonna go over well I don't think. Just tell him straight up what we were doin, hopefully he is in a good mood.

Good news.. maf is dead on and we know what timing it will take!

I've passed cops going pretty fast in my camaro last year, the trick is if you see them they def saw you, so just pull over by yourself and admit you were doing something stupid. You will normally get out of it.

Umm not sure how it's done up there but in Florida it's called Data Logging and it's illegal. Which is one off many reasons HPT calls there software for "Offroad use only".

If nothing else the car has never run faster or smoother.

I have blown by cops in my truck 20+ over and never popped. I think cops see it as a sport compact and some punk is driving it. They want to teach you a lesson in Authority!

Dont worry Brian, my license was clean.... it can take the hit.

I always heard it was illegal period to have a laptop open in the front seats, even if you are watching a movie. That is why i made sure I closed it quick and put it on the floor.

My buddy uses his laptop for a GPS, he bought a usb gps for it and has it mounted in his truck on a stand he made. I told him be better watch it, it is so obvious he has it because it sits really high. So far he has been ok.

If it makes you feel better.. i had over 6 pts at one time.. had to take some stupid ass "special points examination". Took it up in Willpo actually. Took me down like 2 points, if i failed it i would have lost my license for a little bit. That was from the cavy story..

I just got done tuning my car out in ohio with Tom. I was worried about the same thing happening, so we mainly did 2nd gear pulls. Car runs great. How much timing are you running, and how are the iat2s?

Thats kind of odd. They make laptop mounts for big trucks and there are TONS of guys running them as a GPS and they use them to log miles for trip reports and fuel taxes. I never heard of that.

21 degrees, IAT2 was 133 i believe at the top of 3rd. It heats up about 30 degrees in a 3rd gear pull on the IAT2.

From what I noticed on tuning, you need atleast 3rd to hit the cells hard. 2nd is too quick and for me 2nd is always leaner than 3rd. 3rd is what i found the best/safest to hit cells hard and work the best for maf tuning.

Maybe it is ok.. i just didn't want to find out the hard way. What he didn't know.. didn't hurt him..

I am hitting about 150 on the top of 3rd for iat2s with meth =/. Just using windshield washer fluid now, but changing it to a 50/50mix soon. I am currently sitting on 22 degrees of timing.

Depends on the state. You can't have an open screen in the front compartment (some distraction law, like cell phones) but gps is apparently allowed or it's not enforced with gps...however having video running anywhere in the front seats will usually get you a ticket...if it's **** it's funnier but still a ticket. I'd assume a laptop with gps would still be enforced if you're constantly looking down from the road to look at the thing.

You runnin a 2.8"? Thats pretty warm. I am actually thinking about getting 60s and dropping to a 2.8.. not sure if I want to know.

At the track I left the line at 100 iat2 and crossed the traps at 120 spraying 50% mix at 3 gph.
