this is is answer

Dear K&N Customer,

K&N intake systems are application-specific. Each intake kit is
designed to fit a specific vehicle with a certain engine, within a
specific range of model years. Intake kits do not cross over to other
model year vehicles, to vehicles with similar body styles (Ford Explorer
vs. Mercury Mountaineer), or to vehicles not specifically listed by
year, make, model, and engine size in our application guide. If a kit
is not listed specifically for your vehicle, it must be assumed that K&N
does not offer a kit for that vehicle.

All K&N intake kit designs are submitted to the California Air Resources
Board to apply for CARB exemption. Kits must be resubmitted to the
board for each new application (vehicle model and model year) they are
listed for. If exemption is granted, K&N will receive notice from CARB
on average 9-12 months after the initial submission. Customers who
register their product warranty cards will receive the CARB exemption
decal for their kit automatically, as soon as they are available for K&N
to send out.

We recommend using our online application search to check which products
are offered for your vehicle. To search, please visit
http://www.knfilters.com/search/appsearch.aspx and enter the year, make,
model, and engine size of your vehicle. All products offered by K&N to
fit this vehicle will be shown. If a specific type of part is not
listed, it is not offered for this vehicle.

If you have any further questions, please contact our Customer Service
department at 1(800)858-3333.

Thanks for writing,

There is no 06 K&N CAI yet, your best bet is to go with injen

Kinda lame there the is no 06 K&N intake for my car but places are selling them or the 05 as 06 intakes. So ya think that mean that Modern Performance will take the one they sold me for my 06 in return when they come out???

Also WTF Would it matter the only change from the 05 to 06 include the following

Different Placement on Badges and an extra GM badge.

Ridged motor mount.

So why wouldn't the 05 CAI work for the 06 ? K&N is just letting themselves off the hook by explaining a loop hole.

Ok your a noob.....

Just kiddin' but the post right above yours states that I have an 06 with the K&N CAI in.
Yes they do fit and I just find it lame as hell that places would sell an 05 knowingly to an 06 if this is all true about there will be a different version for the 06. Very WEAK!

Even if it is the same they are dealing with a government agency to get their CYA CARB certification. This seems reasonable having dealt with any government.

I hear every one saying Injen is better, but there is a long list of peeps talking about " the fitment sucks" and "its rubbing the hood" and "it wore a hole through the intake."

Are these happening with both K&N and Injen or only Injen? I just got my SS/SC and want to know. I would rather have a decent fit and install without hassle of grinding hoods, and cutting headlight screws.
