Has anyone had a problem with the CEL coming on after the installed CAI?

everyone has............ motor is running too lean...

 

The computer thinks the car is running lean but when looking at the A/F ratio the car is running fine. If you can deal with the CEL until GM comes out with their reflash then get it.

 

MANY MANY PEOPLE. I'd advise to run a search. You will yield hundreds of posts about this issue.

Most common issue is that either it comes on right away, comes on after a few hundred miles, mine has never came on yet.

 

what he said^^ there is a sticky in the forums that asks you to search before you post. But since you only have 2 posts you can slide for now.

 

I've been driving with the cel on since october. once someone gets into the computer it won't be a problem anymore.

I think only the 2005 cobalts are having issues.. My friend and I both have a 2006 and neither of us has had the cel come on.. He lives in the super hot weather and I the super cold weather.. Apparently the '06's have had a minor change to the computer and they are not as sensitive..

 

I have a 2006 and have the same CEL p0171 About every 450 - 500 miles .. CEL does'nt affect performance at all ..

 

I also have a 2006 any my CEL light is also off for a while then back on for a while. Dont even notice it anymore. Its more like "Hey its on again wonder how long thats been" or "wow it went off again... didnt notice that"

 

Mine just came on after i dyno'd monday. i called K&N and they told me to unplug the neg. battery cable over night, so tomorrow i guess i will find out.

 

That is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. Unplugging your battery will not do ANYTHING to fix the CEL.

 

I've put on 2000 miles since I put the k&n and NO CEL.. hmm..

 

no cell here, been beating on it hard and drove it ALOT...
