K&N Intake Coming In

I just talked with Max Lopez from K&N's Product Development department, im going to be takeing my car to their shop in Riverside, California. They are going to do some dynos on my SS before and after the intake. If they like how the intake works and the performance numbers are good they will be manufacturing the intake for use by everyone. Lucky me i get a free intake . after i get my car back wich is in about a week or so from nerxt monday i will post the dynos for everyone to see

What filter do u have, the stock universal replacement one.

i think that they will be going with a different style filter for the intake because its a metal pipe not a plastic tube (the SS intake is a plastic tube right?)

Most of the k&n intakes that I have seen are a black plastic pipe and a cone stile filter. They use plastic pipe because it doesn't hold heat like metal, and a cone filter because there is more surface area than a flat drop in.

Matt, did you have a body shop do that wing removal? If so, how much was it to fill the holes and paint?

nope i took it off myself and used those little pop-in things you use to secure the carpet to the body panels. Doesnt look super professional, but looks good enough for me. Body shop estimate was $498 to do it at dealership, other body shop said they could only replace the entire deck lid and it would be $800. So i said FTS and did it myself.

Does anyone know for sure if the K&N is plastic or metal..? Saw a pic of one at www.gravanatuning.com, but you have to look for it.. Raced a yellow SS yesterday that had a boost control and about an extra pound of boost and ran right with it... I say go with the pullies if you want more boost... VICTORY RED SS
