Kind of in a dilemma and need help

Alright so here is the deal. i want to mod my car more but i have noticed that almost every time i try to do something to my car, something goes wrong. When i installed my dp, the rear o2 sensor was stripped from the factory, and when it came out the threads were gone, so i was forced to tie it off and buy a new one. When i went to do the pulley, my god damn gf dropped and lost one of the blue stg2 pulley bolts.

I want to make my car faster. My next mods are the dual pass endplate, c/a heat exchanger, and the c/a or gmpp header. With those mods i want to throw a 2.7 or 2.8 on the blower along with some 60's and get it tuned. But im weary because i dont want anything to go wrong during the install, with the tune or anything. should i leave my car the way it is right now and enjoy its performance or should i mod it and keep having fun, and hoping nothing breaks, or i blow the motor. Anything i do its going to be right. I just want my car to be reliable because i need it to go to work and school.
Anyone have any problems with 60's, or smaller pulleys and wished they left their car stock?
