looking for best tuner on css.net

I am in colorado with accsess to HPTuners via a good friend. looking to log and email then coorect and so forth. I have heard that terminator2 is one of the best. How do yall feel? Is the altitude i am at going to be hard to tune from a diff state?
Thanx for the input guys.

the altitude thing is not a problem with datalogging, area is probably your guy for lsj's but he's done tuning for randos iirc. Term2 is good with the lnfs, not sure about the lsjs. 1badblueberrysc is a good tuner and he used to drive an lsj contact him

Terminator2 would be a great choice, 06Black, o6blackg85ss, fast98/lsjwannabe, and Area 47 are all excellent tuners if you can get them to help you. i doubt it will be cheap.

I also know Jimbos'ss is a good tuner, but he's in germany haha, 1badblueberrysc, and shaunmcdee are also good.

i think thats the shortlist as far as people i would let touch my car.

The fact that you will be datalogging in your native climate/elevation is all that matters, regardless of where your tuner lives.

edit: yes all of the above.

I would say Zach06cobaltss is a reputable tuner as well, I trust him 100%. He doesn't live that close to you, but does travel, just throwing it out there.

I would say $300 + credits if they don't already have your year/model unlocked is pretty average.

HPT will always put down better numbers, and better tunes. The real talent is with the individuals who have a passion for tuning,a nd the vast breadth of experience.

Trifecta is a good system, vince is a decent tuner, and excellent software engineer, which is where he should focus his talent.

We have talked with him on other vast projects he's tuned other then Cobalts. He does a great job. Thats why we want to work with him to get his numbers great for us so people on here can see he's just as good an option if they so choose.

Although, true the right HPT dedicated to LSJ's will do wonders for the car. The ones who've spent hours on end perfecting are the ones you want. Trifecta just has more tables then HPT.

he has more tables because he writes the software himself. If he would release the software, it would benefit the community, but as of now, that's his selling point.

I don't want this to become a HPT vs. Trifecta thread, the OP just asked who the best tuner was on the site, and i posted them. I stick by my answers.

And. here. we. go.

Nah for real though. I do believe that the HP guys make more powerful tunes. But like you said they are car enthusiasts not vendors. Anyone selling HP or Trifecta should become a vendor or do it for free. Specially when it's 300 a pop.

its not 300 a pop. HPT credits are $100 to unlock a car, and after i think 5 cars of a specific year and model, you unlock the year and model.

What you're paying for is their experience and knowledge. It's not free.

No I agree they know their ****. But I asked earlier how much. I don't know how HP works so I thought it was 300 (for them to tune) then another certain amount for credits? If I didn't half-way care about my warranty then I would have went with HP in the beginning. But I'll switch later on. I guess I just have a thing about paying a bunch of money to someone that just likes to do this stuff and isn't really a business.

you still have to comp them. they spent their own valuable time writing your tune. they sent a lot of time learning what they know.

if you knew how to tune, you would charge too.

i mean, their friends i'm sure are one thing, but why would they give it away to a perfect stranger?

Well I don't really mean do it for free. Just having some type of business would help. Like you said I would be giving my money to a perfect stranger. The guys that are good seem genuine here but there could be people that just take your money or give you a **** tune. But I would pay 300 or whatever for a good HP tune one day.
