Looking to do a full exhaust set up this spring.

First of all I know this kind of stuff has been covered, but I wanted to get up-to-date info, plus i have a few questions.
As soon as I get out of debt from my vacation, I plan on doing a full exhaust, all in one shot. I want to get a good setup, but cost is also an issue. What header/downpipe combo would you suggest for someone on a budget, but also gives good gains. As far as the catback goes, I can handle that one on my own and choose something when the time comes, I'm really more concerned on reccomendations on the header/dp. My car is Stage 2, and I dont not plan on doing much more than that, so a larger diameter exhaust isnt really necessary.

What kind of gains will I expect to the wheels with a full exhaust setup? Is it in the ballpark of 15-20? Also, has anyone intalled all of this using jackstands. I've only installed exhaust on trucks so this is new to me... i dont have the access to a lift.

Thanks guys

I did my full exhaust install on jackstands, in the dark (for the most part), outside in 20 degree weather, lol.

The CTI combo is a very nice product. It's not very hard to do. You will be fine.

from personal experience, i think the zzp sounds WAY better than the vibrant, and comprabale power gains. the vibrant setup in my opinion is very weedwacker/lawn mowerish. never heard the cti in person, so can't comment on that.

Haha no wayyyyy! I hate it when its super cold outside how stiff and sensitive to contact your skin gets. Man, I cut myself all to hell doing that exhaust in that 20 degree weather. Luckily my friends helped me....but it was one hell of a nuisance. Especially considering the bolts CA supplied with the header didn't thread into the downpipe. Oh the memories.... (I did my full exhaust install back in Nov. '06)

thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking zzp right now. Only question I'm still pondering is the power gains.... 10-15whp?

^^ maybe.. that is the highest point of restriction for our cars, but 15whp is a lot pf power gained from a bolt on. probably closer to 10, but 15 is possible to see

Alright, thanks guys. Its now time for me to decide whether its worth putting money into this car. Its outdated in my mind, and I would like something with better build quality, but at the same time its been super-reliable for me and has only 34k. I would probably lose a lot selling it because these cars not holding their value.

So my dilemna... sell the car, and take on payments for a new/newer turbo car. (Like Audi, VW, Mazdaspeed3, WRX etc.) Or, just stick with my car that has been so good to me and that I still love to drive, and maybe just update some things to make it better. (Springs, full exhaust, some interior goodies)

Thankfully, I have plenty of time to decide this.

Hey when you talk about putting it on jacks , are you using a regular jack like the thing that comes with the tire and if so you aren't doing front and back of the car up in the air just the back right?

you can get a nice pump jack very cheap... i have one from walmart, was about 40 dollars, and it's a 3 ton jack. not a good idea to use the jack that came with the car.

also, depending on what you're doing, you can do the front, the back, or both. for a full exhaust, it's easiest to just lift the entire car and put them on stands.

oh i know i was just wondering because i wasn't really sure, i mean technically you can just go under the car without jacking it up, if you are a small person kinda like me.
