Looking for some quarter mile times?

Guys, just wanted to get a poll of what you guys are running the quarter mile in with a stock non- G85 car? Are the cars with the G85 outperforming the non- G85 cars in stock trim. Just wanted to know because all the tests done on cobalt ss's have the G85 package and they are always around 14.4.

in the 1/4 mile i havnt seen any deffinate g85's performing any different, but i know with an intake there have been a couple non g85's running 14.2-ish, but some g85's run the same times too its all in the driver, i do not believe that one is faster than the other in the 1/4mile

It will be no different. The g85 is for corners to transfer some of the power to the other wheels. Going straight it makes no difference. 14.5 Seconds

oh i thought u had the downpipe and header installed for some reason. i just want to hear that the header/downpipe is good for a difference you feel, cause my magnaflow cat back didnt really do much for feeling a difference. but i plan on running the same set-up as you mins the short shifter. cant wait till i can order the 2.8, that made a very nice difference right?

Sorry I just saw you had the magnaflow. The downpipe still sounds like crap, I have put like 200 miles on it already. The sound has gone down a little though.

The 2.8 is real nice. I would get the pulley first then go with the downpipe. The headers from zzp havent been fitting correctly. Consider getting the cobalt addiction downpipe becasue its supposed to be better then zzp's.

ZZP's Header didnt fit correctly. It was hitting a coolant line. With the 2.8 you run 15 psi all the time and at the higher rpm's you hit around 17-18. The 2.8 is the best money to hp upgrade in my book.

All ive heard is good things about the cobalt addiction header. The pulley also installs in like 5-10 Minutes so its also very fast to get done.

ggarcia... THE PM SYSTEM IS THERE FOR A REASON.....

do you even kno what this topic is about? cuz i certainly forgot.

i doubt there is any noticeable difference between the g85 and the non-g85 in a 1/4 mile track. on a road course tho......

that isn't true... The g85 equipped car has an advantage in shorter races, or once heavily modded. The g85 provides much better traction because it puts power to both wheels equally. The g85 does add drivetrain power loss though, g85 and non g85 are pretty much equal stock.

Open differentials provide the power equally as well assuming equal length drive shafts. Torque biasing only provides partial torque transfer during single wheel slip.

13.7 @ 106 mph (got traction ??? 2.3 60 ft time) but I have the G85 . This was done with a New Era Performance 260 whp package which uses the 2.8 pulley . There is a lot left on the table with that time too , that was the first time to the track with the mods done and only 4 runs were made so a little practice will definitely shave off a couple more tenths and add 1 mph easy , only 1500 miles on the clock .

K&N intake , ported tb and sc inlet , 2.8 pulley , and CTI header with catted downpipe , magnaflow exhaust , Ingalls torque damper , custom in house tuning on our dynojet dyno via hptuners software . That pretty much sums it up . I know the car will run much lower ET's with some more racing , but we have so many projects on our hands , I just don't have time to take the car to the track every week to try it .

All of these can be ordered at www.neweraperformcaeparts.com , but for the port work you will have to call and tuning is a must .
