lose your stock plugs asap. get some ngk bkr7e
the noises are probly due to the exhaust hitting something like a heat shield, or just becuase our stock engine / trans mounts suck ass. My car makes a rattling noise from the transmission when im in neutral with the clutch out. goes away as soon as i push the clutch in. I am on my 2nd tranny if that means anything...

so if i take it to my service dpt, with my 2.9" pulley on will they block my warranty or would that have anything to do with it? or will they not even notice its a Pontiac Buick GMC service dpt...
i thought most people recomended copper? is irridum better?

I had my timing chain tensioner and a timing chain guide replaced under warranty and I have cams and upgraded valve springs. Unless you did something to it that you're not telling us, the dealership would be hard pressed to blame that on you...
Irridium... no... not on FI motors...
Good old copper plugs.
i work at the dealership where it would be checked, and also they didnt even have the tool to do the stg II upgrade, we only sell Pont. Buick GMC. So iam hoping that they wont have any clue of the difference...
Hmmm... get GMS2 pulley on. take it in. I have not seen the video but from what your describing, it is likely a fouled spark plug.
As far as changing to a cooler plug I dont think that is necessary even if your running 2.8".
2.7" is when lower heat range may need to be necessary. If you running a GMS2 tune and not leaned out it is not likely necessary to change plugs.

EDIT - K saw the vid. hard to tell from the vid but check the SC pulley to see if it is tight. I had a similar problem where I thought my SC was screwed. taking it apart I found that the SC pulley bolts backed out. USE LOC-TITE. not necessary but if it happens again that will surely solve it. I hope that is all it is. MINE WAS THAT LOUD. not saying that is what it is but just check.

yeah it was making this sound ever since i had stg II installed, so it wouldnt be related to the pulley, cause i went to 2.9" and it still did it... keep in mind that it doesnt alwas do this, thats the wierd part...
if that is timing chain (which it is very likely or could be) then the tensioner is the problem since it goes away. change your pulley and get it into the dealer ASAP. it will be covered. that is quite abit of work even if it can be done with the engine still in the car. the tensioner has be a going concern with all ecotecs. it is a good system but when it goes bad well.... you know first hand...... I hoped it was simpler but it is not. you want to use warranty here so that if it happens again they can do it again. not only that they will likely replace the whole tensioner. it uses oil pressure to apply a contant tension on the timing chain. with out it the chain can bang on the timing cover and internally on the block, it could skip a tooth and cause timing of the valve train to be out on one or both cams. likely to skip at the crank. any way... get it in for warranty work. they can figure it out.... what if our guesses at the problem is wrong and it is something else? Just take it in.... K I think the horse is dead....LOL
