LSJ ECU/PCM and wiring harness year compatibility

Well, I need some help on this for a swap in a totally different European vehicule.

I understand reading various things here, than depending on the year the LSJ PCM is different. It is just a software thing ? Or are the connectors and engine wiring harness different ?

Basically as I need to source a LSJ engine wiring harness, I need to know if I have to look to a specific year one to work with a specific PCM year or not ?
If it's just software stuff I'm sure Hptuners would do the job fine...

Anyone could brief me on that ?

Thanks

From what I learned here, I think only the '07 LSJ pcm operating system has some significant differences compared to the 05-06 years. (Right?)
Harness and connector-wise all should be identical. (Although an 04 Ion Redline uses an axle mounted VSS sensor and on the later years it's in the gearbox.)

I never got a definite answer which OS was the best, but all should be suitable for your rear-engine swap and tunable by HPTuners. ;-)

There is no physical difference in the PCM. The 07 OS has differences in the way the tables are formatted/located, but nothing that a Write Entire would not resolve if you wanted to load an 05 or 06 tune. All wiring should be the same 05--07.

You may have heard that 07 had a different PCM, but that only applies to the P12 found in the Colorado/Canyon/Trailblazer, etc. (Vortec/Atlas applications of this PCM). That one is 2MB as opposed to the 1MB found in all other makes/models (i.e. - Cars). There isn't really sufficient documentation on this though, so you may be best off sticking to 05-06 to source your parts as they are guaranteed to be most compatible with each other.
