LSJ MAP Sensor Part Number
Hi all,
I just had a heck of a time locating this part, and thought I would do everyone a favor by sharing.
The part number listed pretty much everywhere (GM dealers, gmpartsdirect.com, alldata, etc) for the TMAP on the LSJ is 12614973.
This is WRONG. I actually ordered this part number from gmpartsdirect.com, and was surprised when I opened the box to find they had sent me the Baro sensor instead.
A search of ss.net showed that this has happened before, but nobody ever found/posted the updated part number.
I happened to find this j-body.org thread:

...but I could not confirm 100% whether it was the correct sensor, so the search continued.
Searching by the Bosch part number on the label (0261230042) didnt get me an exact match, but I did find a cross-reference of part numbers for this part:
Bosch 0261230042
GM 93170309
Opel 1238244
Fiat 46769978
I had already tried Bosch, but had not seen that GM number before.
It didn't work when I plugged it into gmpartsdirect.com, but another google search for 93170309 did the trick!
It is listed as a SAAB 2.0T part pretty much everywhere, and rightly so since the SAAB LK9 is the LSJ's twin brother.
SO, if anyone finds themselves needing an LSJ MAP sensor, but the dealer and all other usual sources fail, you can order one here:

After re-reading the j-body.org thread I linked, it turns out 90423637 IS the correct number. Someone posted a pic of the sensor and the label matches ours (Bosch 0261230042).

Yeah miles, I was actually using the GMS1 map for a while there. Worked like a charm, but the idea is to fix this GM part number mixup so people looking for a 100% stock replacement can know the proper number.

oh ok well then you did the job. i also had a heck of a time finding the part number. as far as tuning the 3 bar, idk, i dont tune my car but it was a few setting changed and it works good.

Yeah, its just two settings to make the GMS1 sensor work. Since its lower resolution it cant really read anything below 40kpa accurately, but it gets the job done.

Do you mean an actual 3bar tune, or just a 3bar sensor calibrated to work exactly like stock?
I've only ever used the latter..
Street Dreamz has a thread about 3 bar tuning, but it lacks just enough information to make it pretty much useless.

Sorry to bump this old thread... But I am having problems with my TVS crushing my MAP as well.
I had the MAP rotated and not screwed down to fit under the TVS. I believe this was giving me a small vacuum leak, so I dremeled the MAP like crazy and cut a notch in the base to get the bolt to seat against something. I still have the leak I believe lol.
Did you guys mod the MAP or just rotate it?
And for a replacement, is it better to go with the 3bar MAP? I saw the 3 bar tune writeup, and ya that looks a bit stupid. If the 3 bar can be used on the regular tune with some setting changes, and is cheaper, it might be a good alternative.

The 3bar loses some resolution, so its actually better to stick with the stocker. You can't beat the GMS1 sensor for the price though.
Like I said I ran this MAP until I got ahold of another stocker.
If you want to run it in your car just change your Linear value to 329.43750, and your Offset to -6.35156.

Actually it came out nice and clean, very close cut, but thats the part that concerns me. I think having a little material around the edges for the TVS to smoosh might be necessary.

I think I'm having the same problem lol. Mine looks nice as well, but I think there is something preventing it from sealing up perfectly. If I spray a bunch of brake parts cleaner on it, my idle dips a hair. I haven't tried it in awhile though, so I'll have to play with it more.
I wonder if a little bit of silicon around the oring and where the sensor seals onto the intake manifold, might fix it right up?

Yeah mine is pretty sporadic. Sometimes I will pull a perfect -20inHg of vacuum, but then other times I'll only do -15 and it begins to idle like crap. That is with the A/C OFF. A/C on makes it touch -10inHg and my idle starts bouncing non-stop. :\
A little silicone in there to help seal it would probably do the trick if that is in fact the issue. I might try it next weekend when my OTTP intake comes in.

Sounds good. I'll have to try to fix mine soon. I usually pull about 16-18inHg at idle so I'm not sure if there is really a problem or not. My STFT's fluctuate like crazy at idle sometimes though, so I'm thinking maybe it's a leak. My front O2 looks good on a HPT scan and it switches properly, so I don't think that's it.

I've read that anywhere between 16--20 is normal, yet I know for sure a perfectly running LSJ should pull -20. That doesnt sit well with me. I want perfection. lol

Sounds like a plan. I'd love to get mine straightened out as I feel like I have some tiny issue that is impacting me from getting my tune dialed in well. A small vacuum/boost leak would be enough to skew fuel trims and such.
Not if the GMS1 sensor isn't giving you any probs. The loss of resolution doesn't seem to be affecting you so far. lol

I replaced my rebel with an OTTP intake and now my car mysteriously pulls -20inHg again. Its more like 19.5, but it is VASTLY improved. I'm still trying to make sense of it.
