Not sure if there are any minor differences between the two blocks that would cause piston clearance issues?

lnf rod length 5.709 lsj rod length 5.728 difference .019 and at that will make a difference from clearing the piston oil coolers you and you need a minimum of .100 clearance so the piston wont hit and break them off on the compression height i need to re measure to see the difference

yes blue is running a gen3

Thank you for clarifying specific specs check clearence with pistons all the way down had plenty more than a tenth of an inch so turned the motor over with the fuel pump off and sounded great. Head should be on tomorrow hopefully at latest Sunday I ran into personal matters on tuesday.

Cars running good I have a couple pictures and what not but im pooped it's been an all day deal and my alternator isn't charging right because the connector on the alternator broke so gotta find a solution or get a new alternator but all in all a success I'm happy with the outcome even got my new flex pipe welded in today and slapped it up in there so it doesn't sound like bees taking over the world. Time to break it the rest of the way in and see what she's got again!!

I bought a used LSJ alternator and when I received it it had a broken connector and only had the two metal prongs sticking out. I methodically rigged it up with some zip-ties to hold the connector to the alternator and it has held fine for months through autocross events and everything.

Yeah I can get you a picture. As for your uploading videos question I would use youtube. If you use their "share link" it will embed the video in the thread. If you just copy and paste the browser link only the link will show. That is what I have experienced anyways.

Made new little clip to help push it over and better grab for the zip tie. Working well at 20 miles on the car gonna drive all night and change the oil tomorrow or Wednesday .

Yup at 150 miles on lnf rods and pistons and it's running perfect does have a little deeper pitch to it at idle but I like it so no hurt no foul there. Honestly it feels a tad slower but it's hard to tell I haven't gotta past 5000rpm and that was only once(plus it's way quieter with the new flex pipe I was running Straight header haha not cool). I'll have to rave my buddy's cobalt again to see but if ot is I'll just go to a 2.8 pulley and be done with it and save for turbo.

it would make sense it feels a little slower now, the compression is lower.

Was dead even with a cams 3v and fbo 5.0 wrecked me and had a good race with a intake exhaust tune saturn sky. So I'll re run them

considering you cant get to the jets with the bed plate on to check the clearances I know your full of ****

just because they fit does not make it right

its slower from torque loss

Yea I'm hoping it'll pick back up a little when they get good and broken in. Don't wanna drop a pulley size but I might not the same as just upping the boost on a turbo. I really need another heat exchanger..

Your correct but it's easy to tell if there's more than a 1/10 if your not retarded.

just because they fit does not make it right

Also right but who's to say it's wrong?

its slower from torque loss

Correct that's not the sole reason but correct none the less.
