Why does pulley size matter on N2o?

nope. none of that. I will run an ATI damper soon, just because I think it will help the timing chain and guides live longer. I have broken black timing chain guides, and regard that as a maintenance item not an "engine failure".

I 100% beleive that a forged piston for high horsepower builds is a smart thing to do, but in fact the oil control from the stock piston has proven better for me than the diamond piston ring package. But that just means I use a litre of oil every 3000 miles rather than practically none...

I would talk to Harrop and ask Julian. Or someone like eBristol who can read blower maps. I cant. There has to be a reason Harrop dont think that anything less than 2.9 is worth doing.

It could be they dont want their stuff to spin too fast for reliability. Or it could be heat. The capacity of the 1320 Harrop, as I understand it, is way beyond what people feed it with pump gasoline.

Time Attack ran a stage 3 pulley fyi. The smaller pullies than that got discarded in engine testing. That may mean something, it was a tvs and it did run a very fine nitrous setup.

it did blow up as well in the end. we were done, finished, put Tarzan and the Evo's firmly back on the trailer, unable to even think about approaching the Cobalt's fast time, which lasted a few years at Buttonwillow.

But the Chev. program manager had to have Heinricy do another run, could be just because he wanted to show he was important and could have it happen.

boom.

the torque from the 2.6/2.7 was way more than the 2.9. blower response greatly improves

I have seen these and attempted to deduce how to read them myself but no luck. Anyone want to explain how to read this properly?

The majority of TVS owners are between 2.2 - 3.0 PR (17 - 29 psi)

3" tvs pulley
Stock 6.5" crank pulley
7500 RPM redine
TVS RPM = 16,250

Assuming a 3" puts you around 18-20 PSI
Plug that into the graph to see the uphill battle supercharged LSJs have to deal with daily in terms of efficiency.

This chart doesn't show blowers temperature :/

you want to start off with a bigger pulley to lower the cylinder pressure for the juice then if you feel the need to lower it then go for it

It does

But you're just going to blow the tires away. A larger pulley will still instantly hit; especially when backed with a progressive shot of nitrous.

On the track/canyon you're trying to avoid smoking the tires through turns.

The quickest cars out here in the local canyons are usually the ones with significantly less torque.

Surprised there isn't more commentary about the upper cylinder support.

Oh so as Trevor mentioned...

Short block is ready

Trend performance wrist pins arrived. Time to balance and begin assembling.

Reminds me... I need to drain the gas tank of the old e85

Out of curiosity where can you buy a girdle, or does it have to be custom made. Always wondered for when I eventually build my engine.

Its a modification i did to the block. The material is cheap its the labor that gose into it. That's the more costly part or it.
