my buddies mani looked just as bad man, vac ports were on the wrong side TB opening was too small and powdercoat was crap. he sent it back and they made another one. got it back again, still garbage... not enough vac ports this time, tb opening still isnt big enough and some burrs on the inside aswell looks like it wasnt even cleaned before powdercoating. hes dont wanna pay his money again to ship the damn thing back and wait another month for them to make a new one. for the money he spend with vulcan he should get what he asked for no doubt.

Yeah... that's another kick in the nuts. The TB Bolts will start to thread... and then they just stop threading. I'm guessing they were made with the wrong pitch. We'll just tap it.

BUT... the real problem is that the alignment of the TB is off, I'm guessing. The actual collector wall is behind two of the bolt holes... meaning that the TB Bolts can only go so far before they hit that wall. Anybody have a TB Spacer for cheap? Dirt Cheap?

Vulcan, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to get this thing on my car and running. So that I have a car for the next 2-3 weeks. After that, I'm shipping out to Camp Lejuene and I won't need a car. I'll then have my friend take off the manifold and ship it back so that anything and everything wrong can be fixed. So I'll just leave the TB opening as it is now... which isn't pretty. Fair warning...

hahn is willing to fix at there shipping charges, im just waiting till i do my cnc head and have some down time then send it in... they said i can send it back anytime... 1mon, 1yr, or 10yrs later...

hahn tech support is above all i have ever dealt with

Vulcan, Read what he is saying and my manifold is arriving back at your place today in about 30 minutes or so. ALL of this better be re checked before my manifold is sent back out. I DO NOT want to ship this back to you yet again. You say you fired the problem so let's see it. I should get this back with the flange ported, paint fixed, and that there is enough spots for lines, as well as the TB bolts in. If i get this manifold back and the TB doesn't go on, you will have a VERY angry customer. DO NOT ship me back a piece a crap again.

Thank you

What size bolts are you trying to use with the throttle body? There are two different sizes that have been used, 1/4"-20, and M8x1.25. It will be either one of those. I think yours uses 1/4-20 bolts.

I think a lot of people didnt realize that the throttle body bolts are a different size than factory, which is possibly why some were confused. I just spent about $300 today and all new tooling just for porting, polishing and matching up the runners to the head flange. Im finishing up the first one now with a sanding roll. We'll see how they look!

Got them straight from GM. They are for an LSJ. Either way... like I said, we're probably just going to tap the holes to my bolt size.

Yo dawg (Vulcan)...

You should up your price $85 and include ARP Part Number 400-8012 with every Intake Manifold.

Those are the studs that every Cobalt will need to mount one of your Intake Manifolds. We only need 7 studs... so after you buy 7 kits (they come with 8 studs), you'll have a whole set of 7 extra. Just trying to help you make it easier for your customers to mount your product while putting extra $$$ in your pocket.

Of course... it'd probably be more cost effective to buy the 16 pack, instead of the 8 pack.

The product I'm talking about...

The whole product line that I'm talking about...

that is a pretty good idea! I need to get more detailed into those types of things as well as including new throttle bolts that go along with the threading of the holes on the flange.

Well, the size of the TB Bolts most certainly isn't M8 x 1.25. Maybe M6x1.25... I will get the GM Bolts measured tomorrow to figure out what I have and try and have the bolt holes sized on your flange.

Another FYI... the way your flange is on there now... the TB will only fit on there upside down (compared to how it sits stock on an LSJ). If you were to include (either fabbed or bought) a TB Spacer, I think that would allow for it to be mounted in the stock LSJ location... eliminating the need to custom make the Vacuum Hose that connects to the TB and eliminate LSJ's from having to cut our TB wires and extend them.

Sooo... anyone know where to get the cheapest TB Spacer? I don't need any ports on it and it have to be big enough for the LS4 TB.

Thanks for the info on the studs USMCfieldMP. I just ordered my set to make sure they are here when i get this manifold back.

Let me know when you figure out the size and pitch of the TB bolt as i will have to order those as well.

Vulcan i think she we are pretty much your trial dummy's and we are helping you perfect your manifolds, you should hook us up with something....worth a shot lol.

Sounds good... I'm currently trying to find the best place to order that TB Spacer from... I think Cobalt-Addiction has the best price for a regular spacer... but I don't know if theirs will accommodate my LS4 TB... and every time I've ordered from them it has taken 3 weeks for my order to arrive.

If there not M8, they are 1/4"-20. Im 100% positive of it.

^^ This is an example of the porting that will be STANDARD on all intake manifolds through us from this day on, I spent a few hundred on all brand new tooling for doing this and it adds in about an extra 1-2 hours per manifold. They are first trimmed down with heavy cut carbide burs, they are then smoothed down with a single cut fine bur and finished with high speed sanding rolls for a very smooth and flawless transition.
