Magnaflow Muffler

Does anyone have a sound clip of just a replacement of the stock muffler with a magnaflow? Or can anyone vouch for the sound? How does it sound at idle? WOT? Any rasp? Any drone? I don't want anything loud, I had a fart can on my probe and it droned like crazy at highway speeds. I just want something that will sound good and a little louder.

Try magnaflow.com Listen to the videos. Also try a search on CSS.net (here). I have 2 Magnaflow Mufflers on my car, & they sound great! IMO. I do not have any rasp, or drone. Idle, they sound almost like stock.

I did a search and really couldn't find much. Went to the site and only had sound clips of the full exhausts. I just need one of just the muffler

Which model of the magnaflow do you have? Where did you get it? Sound clips would be greatly appreciated if you can find them.

Theres a couple. Its danjhartman's car. Hes a member on here. Its just a magnaflow muffler and he replaced the lest section of the exhaust from the axle back with 2.5 exhaust tubing. The muffler is magnaflow part # 14256. I used magnaflow part # 12256 which is the same muffler just not polished. I did this to just to save some $.

No problem man. I got mine from www.performancepeddler.com for around $70 i think. The polished muffler is around $105 but if i was you id get the nonpolished one just because its the exact same muffler and your never really gonna see it anyways.

Yeah it sounds nice but a cat-back system is built for performance unlike a muffler replacement which is for esthectics.

Actually, replacing the muffler with an aftermarket model such as Magnaflow does increase the performance of the car as it removes the excessive restriction to exhaust flow caused by the factory muffler. Magnaflow uses a straight through design that makes for extremely high flow. The catback exhaust increases performance by rmoving restrictions caused by both the muffler and the tubing but the major restriction is the muffler. Yes the larger tubing of the cat-back will assist in increasing the exhaust flow and therefore is a better performance upgrade than the muffler, but saying the muffler replacement is for aesthetics only is erroneous.

Oh and from those clips I could barely hear the muffler sound over the whine of that SC. god I love that sound

Did you just cut off the stock exhaust tip and get it welded onto the new muffler?

Here is my magnaflow muffler on my 2.4L Ecotec on a G6

Sounds very very deep and not ricy at all. Cant even hear it on the interstate unless you really get on it.

The crackling is not from the exhaust, its the camera..

Just the axel back exhaust with magnaflow won't give you anything noticable, maybe a horespower or 2. The entire exhaust would be good from anywhere from 6-12 ponys maybe.
