I'm wondering how everyone make there own mixtures. I want to run 70% meth and 30%water for now. I need to know where I can find like 100% meth so I could use it to mix. The devilsown premixed stuff is like 49 and 51 so. I'm looking to make my own can anyone help with this?

 

NAPA and CarQuest stores ususally sell race gas and methanol

 

Most race or performance shops carry it or they can definitely order it for you.

 

HEET is almost completely, if not 100%, methanol.

 

Dont use HEET, too expensive to get 70/30. Buy it per gallon, saves a lot of money.

 

how far are you from newport, PA?

theres a place there that sells methanol for 2.80 a gallon and you can get distilled water for 85 cents a gallon at the grocery store

 

i was going to say Canadian Tire sells it but u dont live in canada. Any store with patio/seasonal/auto sections sells it. Might be called Methonal Hydrate....same thing

 

I'd have to look at google maps to see how far, but if napa sells it that would be awesome.

well newport is to far. lol I'm going to check with napa and advanced auto today before I go into work. Now the stuff napa would possibly have would it be 100 percent so all id need to do is put for example 70 percent of the bottle methanol and 30 percent water?

 

Check with the biodiesel crowd in your area too....those guys usually know where to get meth cheap, I believe they use it for processing fuel

55gallon drum of methanol was about $130 last time I checked.

 

Wal-Mart, Methyl Hydrate, $3 a bottle, 99% pure. they also sell Distilled water.

I forget which Heet is almost pure methanol... Red bottle or yellow bottle?

I've been using straight -20* washer fluid which I've been told is only about 30% meth. I have a couple gal of boost juice from cooling mist I'm going to try.

 

I heard peak windshield washer fluid is 5/50

 

i just go to the track with a 5gallon carry/sealed tank, and fill up with 100% methanol. then get a one gallon carry/seal tank. then get a bottle of water(do not use this water) fill it up about and inch and a half from the top with distilled water and pour that into the gallon tank, then fill the rest up with methanol. roughly a 90/10 mix of methanol/water

dang. I'm trying to find a place around where I live that will sale it so I can mix it for 70/30 or up to 90/10. I have a 4 quart tank so it would be pretty easy just fill 70% with meth and fill it off with distilled water

go the the parts store and ask for a gallon of methyl hydrate. i find it at canadian tire (as previously mentioned) with all the fuel additives. its $6/gallon. methyl hydrate is commonly sold for additive to remove water from fuel, as methanol is great for that. the stuff i buy is 99% pure methanol.

lol now where did you get the TB spacer tapped for meth or did you get it with the raw intake?

 

again, which bottle of heet is the straight methanol? red? or yellow?

 

lol if youre buying VP race gas then only get M1. The other (M3, M5) have lubes and other things in there that arent good for the cat, if you have one.

i went to the race track for NHRA nationals and bought 5 gallons, i gorilla'd that **** 1.75 miles to my car in 95*F. good times
