Maple Grove Finally! 14.7 1/4th first run ever.
Last week my plans on hitting the track in Maple Grove PA fell through. Finally on Friday Aug. 25th I was able to make it to the track with a few buddies from work.
2005 Dodge Magnum R/T 5.7 Hemi (blue) 13.8 1/4th
2005 Dodge Magnum R/T 5.7 Hemi (white) 14.0 1/4th
2003? Some type of Audi S4 4.2 v8 (silver) 14.5 1/4th
2001? Another type of Audi S4 V-6 twin turbo (blue) 13.7 1/4th
2003 Ford Mustang GT 14.6 1/4th
and last but not least, me. 14.7 1/4th (only 4 cylinder, and I kept up!)
I only got two passes in because of how busy the track was. My first run I ever made in my life I ran a 14.7 1/4th at 96mph. I was told I had a horrible launch and from the looks of it I could of ran about a 14.5. My second and last run I failed horribly. I hit my rev limiter. I was very pleased with my first run in my stock Cobalt SS/SC. I would like to keep practicing before I make any mods to my car. I was very pleased to be only a 10th of a second slower then a mustang gt. Once I get some better traction and experaince I honestly think these cars can run 14.5 1/4th consistantly. Overall, the adrenaline rush was well worth the 25$ cash to get in. Next time I hope to get there early and get at least 4 passes. BTW, is this a good run for my first time at the track?
