Horsepower in and of itself doesn't make a car fast, it's a vehicle's power to weight ratio (lbs/hp) that determines how quick a car is.
The Eclipse GT weighs 3560 lbs (yikes!) and makes 263 hp. That's 13.53 lbs per hp.
At 3000 lbs, a Balt would have to make 221 hp to equal the Eclipse GT's power to weight ratio.
Seeing how people agreed a long time ago that a stock SS/SC actually makes about 215 hp, then add to that the few extra ponies from your minor mods, and now you have the same power to weight ratio as the stock Eclipse GT.

I know exactly what the OP is saying.
My girlfriend has a 2008 Eclipse GT, and I drive it sometimes, and it feels so much faster then my cobalt, and I have alot of mods.
I dont see how you can say that car is fail, its nice.

but for the hp/lbs thing wouldnt u have to take into consideration that the eclipse is a 6 speed i mean shorter gears should compensate for the weight differnce imo

The car is just plain ugly and not very ergonomic. Its pig heavy, slow, overpriced, and in traditional Mitsubishi fashion, poor quality.

thats the way supercharged cars are. they don't feel like they're doing what they really are. the power comes on immediately when you hit the gas, not later on in life like a turbo. my dad has a trifecta tuned hhr ss at 25psi. it sucks you into the seat like a ****!! i am running a 2.7, 60's, full exhaust, and a trifecta tune. doesn't feel any better than a stock silverado, but i'm all over his back door.
i know where you're coming from cause my buddy has an 06 trailblazer ss with a cam, and other supporting mods, and i blew his doors off.

LOL yea that crank-walking, oil burning, bearing eating piece of **** known as the 4G63. You just keep believing that. When the only thing you know is what you read on the internet, you are destined to be an ignorant failure.
