Meth/E85

Hey guys my friend wanted to know what the benefit's are of running E85 and how to do it on his ss/sc he also asked if it is possible to run meth and E85 and if the gain's were worth it. Sorry i don't know too much about E85 and especially on the LSJ. Thanks guys.

Well, Ill try, meth acts as a octane booster and also cools the intake air. E85 is like race gas (not sure on octane level but i want to say comparable to 105 octane?), but doesnt cool the intake air. Some say they see cooler intake temps but personally i have not seen cooler intake temps (its freezing here anyways). In order to run e85 you will need 80lb injectors and a tune. You need 30% more fuel when using e85 compared to gasoline. Sorry im a little buzzed right now and I tried my best. lol. Oh and i am not for sure about both at the same time. I would say no but the cooling aspect of meth is a plus when on small pulleys. But the water is what cools the temps. I hope if im wrong someone will chime in.

Meth on top of e85 is a waste as far as octane. You could probably use it soley for cooling if you wanted.

K so if he isn't going to need meth for the added octane what other cooling mod's could be done he already has H/E and stu mod.

Tell him to go E85 hands down. I liked my meth setup but even my meth tune that I worked on for a long time on 24* still felt WAY weaker than my E85 tune that I dont have much time into yet. So far Im on 11.5 AFR and 24* of timing and it pulls harder than it ever has and it is fool proof. If you run out of meth (which is actually pretty hard to do if you have a brain) teh motor can go boom, but if you run out of E the motor turns off (duh since its in your gas tank) so you fill up and get right back at it!

This is what I keep reading and hearing. Over all people are liking E85 over meth. I can't wait.
