Meth injection

Im getting my meth kit installed sometime next week and i am using my windshied washer tank. Is there anyway to see if it is getting low or not because from looking at it you cant see the actual tank. Also i will be getting tuned for it to pull timing, will it be a night and day difference to what i have now (mods in sig).

Pull timing...? You mean tuned for it so they can add some timing??

You'll see a lot lower IAT2's and yes if you add timing, I think with meth I was able to jump up 6 degrees.. There is a noticeable difference in power..

Warning:: Do not run out of Meth if you're tuned for it.. I was lucky enough to just break a spark plug on cylinder 4 instead of destroying the piston itself.

This is why the trunk mount is FTW. Windshied washer tank is fail sos.

I just fill up the windshield washer tank every other fill up or twice a month just to be safe. I keep my fluid in the trunk. Or if you tee off the tank just turn on the spray for the windshieled and see if it still squirts.

Alright thanks guys, and about the timing thing i am not sure so maybe adding time is what i meant. But good to know i will get some power out of it. I did it mostly for cooling also since i dont have anything and am running a 2.8. Will Meth be sufficitent cooling for me with summer coming up? And what kind of gauge do i need to read my IAT2's

Interceptor FTW to read your IAT2 temps. Yea. I ran a 2.8 with no cooling in full summer and was fine and didn't pull timing at WOT so I was sub 160 at the time. With meth your definately golden IMO

If you have a wideband controller, yes.

Yea i recently just got meth hooked up, Just did a little tune because im getting a tvs when i pay it off from the gb...so i didnt waste the time and money on a full tune but i was able to bring the timing to 21*, gained 12hp and 8tq, not much but you can feel the difference. Like i said, thats not a full tune so you can get more hp/tq when you get your car tuned for meth.

You could easily go up more degrees in timing. 21 is relatively mild. I think with no meth I'm running 18.. Persay you were running 18 degrees... Went up 3 and you gained 12 whp and 8 tq.. Another 3 degrees.. Another 12 whp and 8 tq? O.o

Not sure what ill get if i add more timing but like i said, i wasnt spending alot of time and money on the tune because when i get my tvs in about a month i have to redo the whole tune anyways, so its just a waste in time/money. All i wanted to do is get it hooked up and change a small part of the tune because it felt like my clutch was slipping, but it wasnt, just the a/f was messed up at 4000rpm.

Sorry for the thread jack. But yea..reading the OP again, i suggest getting a tank for the trunk, windshield tank is a bad idea.

if u have a heat exchanger or dual pass endplate should be safe or 1 step colder spark plugs, after that just tune and keep an eye on the knock. If you get no knock you should be safe.

Off the top of my head I put down 245hp and 239tq.

The dyno was a "heartbreak" dyno as they called it because it was an outside dyno darely cover, was not maintained too well. Both a guy that was tuned at mutliple spots and my tuner said that it usually is about 10-20 WHP lower than others.

But I dont really care about the numbers, just as long as my car is safe. Plus we did see more HP but my tuner thought the AFR could be better to be more safe. So we added more fuel and called it good. I am happy with the results my car seems so much faster and I love it! haha

Keep in mind all dyno's might read different due to the atmospheric settings. The dyno at the shop i go to is set to SAE and i hit 243whp but if i change the setting to what most people that have dyno's do it changes to 251whp

^^^Yah I know that they do vary. Thats why I do not care about the "HP" I put down, its the 1/4 time that I care about. You have about similar numbers, just dont know why your TQ is so low.. Is that normal?
