What should I run? 90/10 or 75/25? 100/0? What do you guys think would be the ups and downs of each? I just bought a progressive meth kit with all stainless hoses. JUst trying to get some opinions.

 

whats your IAT2 like without the meth? I say 75/25....no need going past that. I was able to have a 11.9 afr and a 25* timing on that mix.

 

My IAT2s are normally low. Maybe 140 max after consecutive pulls.

I should probably add more details like I am running this mix with a TVS on a 2.9 pulley with 80 lb injectors.

 

hmm....yea i say 75/25 would be good. The meth will help keep your timing and the water will help keep your temps low after alot of runs. Although i dont know if there is a difference between the 60lb and 80lb injectors...whether it changes things.

90/10 or 100% if you want the full effects from the methanol

 

your not going to see any more effect from the meth between 75/25 or 90/10 or even 100/0. They all will hold 25* timing.

Use no more than 90/10... keep atleast 10% water.

 

i started mixing 2 bottles of the yellow heet and halfed it with water, cause the blue washer fluid was clogging up the sprayer. idk what ur mixing but thats what i used and loved it

 

You put two bottles of HEET in and filled one bottle half full with water? How many cycles of this did you do?

 

There will be a difference in the amount of timing you can run on a TVS with a 2.9" from a 75/25 to 100/0.

If you have access to 100 methanol and want the most hp run at least 90/10.

 

stop messing around trying to ghetto mix ****. find a race shop, they will sell methanol.

 

no i did 50 50 mix 2 bottles of yellow heet and the equivalent in water. ran plenty did perfect

 

And you paid 5x as much as you could have if you found 100% pure methanol. I agree with the OP. Do it right or don't do it at all.

 

Once again, it really doesnt matter at that point...i ran the TVS with 25* timing on 75/25. You dont want to go much further then 25* timing so now point going any higher on meth...all you are doing is lossing your cooling.

 

You might have been able to run that much timing but that does not mean that everyone can run that much timing even with the same setup.

I agree with you not to run more then 25 degrees. Even 25 degrees you are putting a lot of extra stress on the rotating assembly. Time for more boost!

 

what kinda power increase would i be looking at if im running 2.7 with 60's and i bump up 25*timing? rough idea...like 10 whp...

whatever my set up is at..havent dynoed yet but say im on a descent tune already...have people posted there gains yet from meth tunes..i havnt found any

Who tuned your car? What does your tune look like? How much timing is it running now?

I went to the dyno when I first converted to E85 and was still on the stock blower.

Here were my results.

Run 1 - 2.8" on 18 degrees of timing.
Run 2 - 2.8" on 25 degrees of timing.
Run 3 - 2.7" on 25 degrees of timing.



So on a 2.8" pulley I gained 14whp and 10wtq going from 18 degrees to 25 degrees of timing if that helps.

 

So I have been told that buying meth from a local speed shop or a track would be really cheap. How much have you guys paid for say a 5 gallon bottle? I'm just asking because I found this web site that will ship it right to you for $52 for each 5 gallon container.

Any thoughts?

 

I have a question has anyone tried that nitro boost from snow performance? it's nitromethane like a top fuel car susposed to be safe in a progressive meth kit, with the regular meth stuff.

 

i buy pure meth from a speed shop at like 4 dollars a gallon...bit less actually

 

My meth costed me $3.25 a gallon. Pretty cheap stuff
