meth as an only cooling mod

so i have pieced together a stage 3 kit. but no cooling mods. no dual pass, no heat exchanger, nothing. now before spending money on anything else, i am wondering if i can use meth as an only cooling mod on the lsj. i dont really want to buy dual pass or anything else as i may want to turbo swap in the next year or two.
anyone else go this route, and what is the best kit to get? thanks guys n gals

meth kits double as cooling kit/power mod. Since it acts as a cooling mod and a octane booster you can add more timing to the tune to get more power. But if you want it for more cooling then add more water then meth. Meth = higher octane, water=cooling.

theres tons of threads about it. Devils Own has a Q&A thread and personally i think they r the best, had their progressive kit and couldnt be happier with it.

ya im probs leaning towards devils own, a buddy has it on his powerstroke and loves it. but nonetheless, i still am reading about it, how it works and best approach to it. that Q&A thread sounds good, im gonna check that out

It's the best cooling mod there is and it will allow you to run a much more aggressive tune. If you are looking for more cooling than anything then run winter windshield washer fluid. But i actually ran 25* of timing with no knock on the stuff anyways haha.

well i hear you guys, thanks for all the input. im just looking to use for more of a cooling mod than power adder. but yea, what if the pump stops working ahhhhhhhh!
im going to be doing trifecta stage 3 with a/c, so i dont want anything too agressive, just to cool the ion if i do some pulls.
car sits covered in a garge most time anyways, im an ol man. a 29 year old-old man lolz

I've got a dummy light that says the pump is getting power and a pressure sensor. A must if you are going to run meth. Not to mention the red leds on my interceptor light up like a christmas tree when my meth stops working lol. I blew a fuse one time haha

What do you have your annunciator set up to indicate?

And i have the LED light but havnt installed it. My buddy is the wiring expert and i have him do that kind of **** lol

But say youre WOT and then there is some sort of failure at some point in the system...wouldnt it all be so instantaneous that it wouldnt really matter? Idk, would your reaction time after seeing there is a problem via the LED light or your interceptor be quick enought to save your motor? lol

Seems like it would all happens so fast; failure, knock, boom

I have it set up to Knock 3. Anything over 1.0 of knock and the lights go on. If you start to get knock the car isn't going to blow up instantly. But if you don't know it's knocking during a full pull it probalby would. The second i see those red lights my foot is off the gas. It's only happened once when the fuse blew for my meth.

Oh ok mine is setup for the exact same thing lol i have mine setup to alert any knock at all, red lights catch my eyes and i get off the gas too...im not back on meth yet, winter tune and i unhooked meth, what size fuze do you have out of curiosity? lol mine is a 15A


I wonder how many degrees of knock it would see if the meth quit spraying under WOT...
i just hope seeing the annunciator light up and getting off the gas asap would be enough to save the motor before it knocks hard lol **** happens, i know some people on here ditched meth after some close calls...Area being one of these people im pretty sure...EatonTVS blew his motor when he ran out of meth, just another form of the meth cutting out at WOT...just 2 off the top; its awesome **** though lol really is an addiction to meth as your sig says

Fluid level has nothing to do with part failure(s) lol tank could be full but if something ***** the bed it wouldnt matter

My fuse is a 10A. As to how many degrees it would knock would all depend on you're tune. I never even looked up to see the knock when my fuse blew haha. Those red lights catch you're eye immediatly. As long as you get out of the gas ASAP you won't hurt anything. Like i said it's when you don't know you're knocking and you keep rodding on you're car that you are going to go down. Meth injection is very addicting if you can't get your hands on E. So just take proper precautions, montior stuff and you'll be fine.

Yea they get your attention fast, especially at night lol and thats the problem with alot of people in general is that they dont know theyre knocking, i love my inteceptor i wouldnt drive a day without it lol i feel sort of naked when it doesnt pop on right away and i drive a bit with it off

I could run corn, there are 7 stations in the greater Cincinnati area, but it just would be a pain in the ass to have to plan out fueling stops and/or trips places around fueling stations and i dont want to be stuck in a situation where i would get screwed lol

..thats exactly why i wish we had selectable tunes. One for corn, meth...even nitrous or maybe race fuel...
