yea, if I wanted a 4 door right now, I'd be in the market for a cobalt ss/tc. But in about a 2 years (25yrs old and insurance drop) I might start looking for an evo, so we'll see if I keep my balt. I got 2 years into it, and I got 2 years to get it to where I want, if it doesn't perform once myself and wife is 25, then I'm getting a used evo.

My friend has an 04 Jetta GLI. It's a very nice car. Stock it's a tad slower than a stock SS/SC, but with a APR stage II, turboback exhaust, CAI, turbo inlet it'll run with a Stage II SS/SC...

An evo sounds nice but it's not something I can afford right now I'm doing this because my car is paid off and it's gonna be an even trade I don't want anymore payments and with the Balt ss/tc I'm gonna have payments

sounds like they need a few more $$ to run with a stage 2 cobalt. doesnt seem practical.

evo insurance = cheaper than ss/sc insurance.

im 19 and i was going to trade for an evo 8. called my insurance company and it was going to be like $30 cheaper each month.

Thats cause the Cobalt does so poorly in crash testing. Way to go GM looking out for your customers!

NOTE- the ONLY way the Cobalt sedan could get any kind of crash worthyness was to have side curtain airbags installed. And the instalation gives them a high rating by default! Go back and look at what the 05 sedan had for its crash ratings prior to the airbag recall/install.

NOTE 2- When I got my M my insurance DROPPED BIG TIME! Insurance agent told me he was glad to see me get rid of that "unsafe Coablt" His words, NOT MINE.

The prices for used like a 2005 don't seem right if it was that I would of bought an evo instead of my cobalt, I paid 15 for mine back in feb.

See its not as expensive as you thought is it? Why not go see if you can score one in trade for your SS?
