Motor in my DD blew today....
Okay guys who have had their engines go, did they sound like someone swapped in a diesel engine??? And nothing above 4K rpms.
The sad thing is this car had all the cooling mods done already.

Oh ****! That's not good! Is it a blown headgasket possibly? I see I have a PM, so I think I need to go check it.

No power and she sounds like it had the diesel swap. Oil light is on but there is plenty of oil.
It will be resurrected but I would have preffered not spending the $$$$$
That was me

so.....about that "awesome" tune you were telling me about......
check the oil for coolant
check the coolant for oil (it'll be dirt nasty black)
pull the plugs, that'll give you your answer.
looks like you get to re-build two cobalts.
you should have plenty of stock parts sittin around to use!

I haven't really got the time to rebuild. I will likely order another and build this one later.
any smell or smoke out the exhaust?
I can't blame you on the nap thing, but I certainly would like to know what went wrong as I'm sure you do as well. Make sure you go get a cup first because the wifey is probably going to kick you in the nuts!

No smell/smoke/water.
It all seems normal.
The wife would kill me for a 3rd Cobalt even a 3rd engine but the engine will likely be what I order.
I want to know too but when things go wrong, I find a nap prepares me for the worst. I am getting my cup on as I type. The wife just got out of bed. Maybe I need to just do her first, to make her all giddy

Other symptoms.
Oil light on, battery light on and the serpentine belt not spinning at all. The belt is tight and turns by hand with normal pressure.

You think the blower could have locked up? Matty did say that his previous blower failed in a similar fashion if I remember correctly. You might just be in luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I will pull the plugs after my nap.
One other thing that has been happening which Matty thought were the Iridium plugs, it would idle rough. Over the last couple of days the idle got worse to the point of hesitiating when taking off from a stop.
But why would I be able to spin the pulley by hand with no trouble?
As for that spare S/C I call dibs, just in case.

****, not the blower then eh? I hate Iridium plugs, and that's why I went back to the good old $2.00 NGK ones.
I'm running out of guess and all the signs are pointing to #4 here. Damn it this really sucks for you.
edit:
If the screws locked together and then broke the gears or snapped something, the pulley might spin afterwards. Just a possibility.

I guess it is nap time and then time to get up and remove the plugs, then S/C and then the head. Yippee. I guess that means I have to clean the garage first to get in out of the rain. More Yippee.
Rod, I really feel bad for you. (no homo) Maybe you can get the wifey to have some "happy time" with you before the nap, and then work on the car later. Don't tell her it's blown until you know for sure. If it is the supercharger though, now would be a good time for that TVS without getting you into trouble!
