Instructions for the CPC converter.

http://www.msd6al.com/pdf/6304.pdf

I priced it out on summit racings, like $850 dollars for all the parts involved.

I did have some discussions with msd on this and the 6304 alone will not work because there are 4 wires on each coil, not 3 as mentioned in those diagrams its more like a LS1 ignition

I would need a 8207, 6302x2, and of course the msd4 box and the spark wires

No. This system is for the Compression Sense, Waste Spark ignition on the 2002-2006 Ecotec L61s. The 2007 has a Coil on Plug ignition.

You can still replace your stock system with an MSD system, but would use different parts not talked about here.

just looking at what parts are involved dont u actually need 2 8207 and just 1 6302?

didnt make sense to me cause theres 2 outputs from the picture on the coil(8207)

Thanks, I’ll have to educate myself on the subject a little more then, before I begin such an endeavor.

I'm just gonna make a tune for a 2 step rev limit. At like 5500-6000 timing will drop to like -10 degrees, so it will just sit at that rpm with flames exploding out the exhaust, thus scaring the **** out of everyone at the car show

The multiple spark is only at lower RPM's after that its one BIG spark. As RPM increases theirs not enough time for it to fire multiple times.

MSD makes some great stuff BUT when it goes wrong your walking. I can't remember how many 6 and 7 series systems I went thru in my Firebird. And for all the trouble I never saw any difference at the track so I went back to the stock system after a while. Not saying this is the same I'm just recounting my experences with MSD stuff is all.

I am also wondering this, as well as if anyone knows about the install on the 07 2.2.

I think theres a easier way of doing this it would involve using the msd distributor, spark wires, and a blaster HVC coil

only problem is that I think the only box that can run it that way is the Digital 7 and I really dont know how to set up that

I'm revisiting this subject except using a different ignition box, im looking at running the AEM Twin Fire, nice thing is they are only 300 bucks on Jegs and deliver more power than the MSD

It just seems alot easier to figure out than a MSD 4 which I could prob get to work, just would have to convert to waste spark which I dont see as progress

UPDATE I think I have figured out how to get the Twin Fire to work, I will post my findings later today (its 430AM, I get on a tangent and cant stop!) and I want you guys to see if my theory is sound, if so maybe myself or someone else that is adventurous may be able to prototype this thing

What I've found though would only apply to wiring up to the stock coils which may not last very long with the added spark, but it may be progress nonetheless, keep your eyes peeled folks

MSD might still be a possibility, the ignition box is not so much the issue right now

I'm hearing some reliability issues with the AEM, my MSD was never a problem

Sorry I dont have more info, im still in the middle of this dual pass option B install, its going to be at least a few more hours till im back home, this may stretch into tommorow, id rather take my time and have it be awesome

winner.

Everyone who does not get spark break up with their plugs gapped to 0.032 raise your hand. Ok you can all go home because you wont see any gains from this mod.
