My Car Backfired?
if you at wide open throttle. it should not backfire. meing you are 100% ***** to the wall. if you feel the car lay over suddenly and pick back up, there is some issues that need to be tweeked on through the ecm. aside from this, i have yet {besides mine} find a 42 lb car that doesn't do this randomly.
Exact same thing , i pulled my fuel filter yesterday AT 14,000 miles and took it to the dealer . They blew the fuel backwards threw the filter and it looked like coffee. There is a rumor that some of our gas tanks are corroding from the inside and leaving deposits in the injectors. I know of one other person who was having a random misfire and had a complete fuel system cleaning including the tank . I haven't heard the results back yet from him. I had this issue with a untouched stage 2 kit . I havent had another 6300 deadspot yet with the stage 3 pulley.
My 03 cobra was running rich and I had straight pipes on it and when i let off that gas it was louder than a gun shot and shot flames that were over a foot long out. I love the sound when it backfires especially the fire part

[QUOTE=Darksun;1453733]hahah thank you you posted it before i could. hiccups and back fires while under WOT is a no go folks.......
Whihc is why mine does it. 13.5 a/fs FTW?
try gettin a tune maybe try something around 11.2 to 11.7 afrs are in the good range
ryan.

42lb cars will do this, a tune does nothing to help it. well, a severely indepth a lot of time spent will help. but it will not 100% get rid of it.
i have run a/f's from 10.8, all the way to 12.3 it is a rare occasion when it does it. most of the time it happens at part throttle. most of the time, it's a funky dip or a number off in the timing side of it. my car did this bone stock, it also did it with stage 2.

For some reason, his car loves his tune. From what I gather, it has no problems with it and apparently is fast for his tiny bit of mods.

When it happens at WOT, you feel the car die AND hear it backfire.
From what i've been told, the backfire CAN take pistons out.
Mine after fires "back fires" when I punch it from first or second. I think it's my tune. It's a box tune from CA. I'm assuming it's a little off because it's hotter here than where CA is
I don't think so... It pops as soon a I punch it, then bogs down slightly, then just pops in second. I have a feeling the bogging is because of running rich. It only does this upon starting it after sitting awhile.
What plugs do you have? You may be experience "spark blowout". I had some issues with spark blowout, where my car would randomly missfire, I simply changed the spark dwell a little, and the issue never came back. I would suggest either some colder plugs, or a smaller gap.

This sounds like what is being seen in the blown (dead) engine thread. They are getting cracked/melted ringlands on piston #4 from it. Most seemed to be pushing the limits (2.6 pullies n stuff) so maybe this pop is the same, just not enough enough force to blow anything when not going as crazy with the mods.
Mine will crackle when laying off from mid to high revs, but I don't think I've heard anything when on the gas. me=stock + magnaflow

Actually, I was lookin through some files I had saved, and found a stock dyno sheet of my car. On the first pass, the car did the same thing at 5300 rpms, feels like a rev limit hit but then the car just keeps going fine after that. The only theory I have ever thought up that held would be a bad crank position sensor, in that it had a blind spot at a certain rpm and it just doesn't think the engine is turning for a split second, which would kill spark and fuel, but since the car would still be accellerating it would keep going once it got over that dead spot. At least on my car, I cant blame the injectors or tune because the car did it bone stock.
