My Engine build update as of today

pistons are in as well as the head studs tomorrow morning the head will go on and then we do timing and put everything back together let it run for a good 500 or so miles and tear the streets up ooo and i went overboard on cleaning everything to make sure nothing was even slightly dirty as you can see in the pics. And i rehoned the cylinder walls

Looks very familiar https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/advanced-performance-modifications-130/what-does-hole-no-1-piston-%3D-94870/ you will be glad you honed the cylinders I did the same and I am at 2000 miles and still going strong not a drop of oil burned. Now if my turbo kit would just get here.

P.S. dont forget to change oil at 50 and 500 miles

Might I ask how you honed with crank/girdle still on? Did you just cover the bottom so you didn't get shavings on the crank, or did you just make sure to clean the block out good.

I just finished my 4th LSJ about a week ago in California, you won't have any troubles timing it, very simple design.

Yeah, I assumed giving the sleeves a little hone would leave a little bit of metal. All the ones I built had low miles and didn't need honed.

yes if its built right it SHOULD hold...you always run the risk of getting a faulty part that may fail but thats how the game goes...i have no doubt his motor will last
