Is it possible you got a pinhole leak somewhere after install that caused the crappy noise?

I just want to say I have Dezod's cat back and it sounds great, so maybe his was just a bad one or something, But also downpipes usually sound like **** for a while till the carbon gets built up in them which can take a week or a month depending on how much you drive. But whtever it is Dezod should've been more a helpful and nicer about it.

Well I bought the downpipe, so I'll let everyone know how it sounds.

I was wondering if something inside the cat could've come lose and screwed up his muffler? It's Either that, a bad muffler, or a bad leak...

Random Technology makes the downpipe, so if it is bad I'm sure I could get a replacement. They just came out, so I'm sure its under some kind of warranty.

I was looking on their website, new products are cobalt SS cats and solstice/sky cats. This leads me to believe that HAHN is in fact buying them off of Random Tech. If you look at Hahn's site they offer identical cats for the SS, solstice/sky. Hahn wants $440. Off topic I know, but something I've been wondering.

Thanks badboy, good luck with the catback. I'll let you know how it goes for me.

Go with CrateEngineDepot. Tom is the best customer service rep I've ever dealt with.

You know, it seems like you may have blown the muffler. I mean with the accellerated exhaust gases you could have blown part of the muffler out.

if it sounds that bad and they won't help you out, you should make your video with that camera and post it up

i mean, it's the least you can do, so everyone else can hear how bad it sounds.

<hint hint>

"I did not force you to buy the system. You opted to. I can not take responsibility for your actions. Simple as that." Last pm Dezod (PAUL) sent to me! We checked for leaks after we put everything back. Im thinking that the muffler was blown like blown 4-banger said.....

Makes me wonder why they have let this thread go this long without defending themselves. Makes them look a little guilty. I know that it doesn't take long for Donna to start sorting out issues when they arrise with Cobalt Addiction (seems to be good customer service).

Yep, from now on I think Dezod will be thought of as a shaddy buisness just like RSM.

Honestly....you made a mistake. You chose to go with an unknown system over one that has been proven to work and work very well. Another thing, double check for leaks and let the cat build up some carbon. After that, pm dezod/paul again. If you continue to be unsatisfied, post up and let everyone know.

i still find the whole 2.75" exhaust thing amusing... "it's the perfect balance of flow, and torque" or whatever b.s. it was lol a 2.5" straight through exhaust will flow alot better than a magical 2.75" exhaust with a chambered muffler

That's just crazy. That's a very expensive exhaust to not have come with gaskest.
Chances are that's what's causing the sound problem. Or not.

Is the Dezod chambered and not straight through on the muffler?

So is Dezod just a parts reseller or are they a race shop like Intense that develops their own products and then sells them?

HRC makes their own downpipes and catbacks. I know because I've seen the jigs and setups in person on my many visits there. Hell Bill even fixed my downpipe personally on a visit to their shop when we discovered my flexpipe had cracked. THAT is customer service.
