Need Cat or No Cat?

Hey guys i was just recently tuned by matt at tune time and he told me to take the cat out because it was clogged so he turned off all my codes so that if i didnt run a cat it wouldnt show up but he also said i could get a high flow cat any ideas were to get one from?

Hi-Flow cat & no cat these days are pretty much the same thing. Technology these days was nothing like the 90's.

I used to have catless but since going back to stock i want to switch to another aftermarket downpipe, so im wondering cat or no cat as well, i heard aftermarket cats are garbage... no?

What is the best catless downpipe to buy if i just want it to bolt right up to the stock exhaust or should i just get the 3 inch downpipe and run 3 inch back to my muffler

if your codes are already set, then why would you waste your money. Just go get a pipe put in.

i got the random technology dp and i love it i got it from CED. how did he turn off your code? thats the only code im throwing and i want to keep that damn check engine light off.

I had a catless DP before on my cobalt, screw going to a shop, just do it yourself, three bolts off the header, and 2 on the catback and throw it in yourself. takes more time to get the bolts undone than anything else. and thats all of 10 minutes lol.I had the codes turned off with HPT when we tuned my car.

If your cat is clogged, why not just gut it out then, save some money, and get the same result. Its not usable clogged anyway.

My cat clogged up on my vibrat exhaust system. so they sent me another one as warranty with a 95 dollar charge. but i just drilled the old one out and ahve been running like that. if you want the cat you can have it for $70. my loss your gain. i have it boxed up already.

yea it was pretty f****D up they said that was there cost and later i found the same one for the same price on the web.
