Need a good clutch which one?

I hate the clutch in this car, it slips way to much and I have to baby it into gears so... what's a good performance one that anyone on here would recommend, I hear alot about fidanza and exedy but any others?

Well fidanza isnt really a clutch .. its just a flywheel .. but its really up to the driver of the car imo .. people here can tell you anything in the world about whats good and what isnt .. but its all personal preference .. just remember .. "You get what you pay for"

my spec is great for a daily driver, the fidanza flywheel made a nice improvement as well, definately worth the $$, source a good tech for the install though, buy a new slave cyclinder as well, thats your throw out bearing, dont bother looking for a pilot bearing either there isnt one, be prepared to spend, just my clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and fluid ran me about 1k, install was 300 and my tech did it in 2.5hrs, service quoted me 1600!!!!! just for install with my parts, trany shop quoted me 800, dont beleive anyone that tells you it really take a day and a half to swap our clutch, there full of ****!!!

oh yeah, our clutches really do suck, i did the swap at 12k miles and my tech said he wouldnt have even recomended me uograded being my stocker was in such good condition, but it still slipped like a bitch, been slipping since about 4k miles!!!

i have the bully stage 4 six puck full ceramic. it is a pretty good clutch grabs strong, engages half way up the pedal( which is so much easier to drive now) i got mine when they were on sale in feb for 770. I am using a stock resurfaced flywheel though. I have heard some problems when you use the fidanza becuase it is thinner and the clutch will not disengage properly.

Spec has redone the clutch specific for our cars. I just ordered both the Stage 3 6puck and flywheel combo through The Mustang shop here in calgary along with a new Slave cylinder. Through the Mustang Shop, dealer and trani shop the price tag was as follows:

Spec Stage 3 - 6 puck disk and flywheel = 1256.10 CAD tax included - 10 - 12 working days to arrive

New Slave Cyl. = 259.15 CAD Including Tax - 10 working days to arrive

Labour = 90/hr CAD @ 6.7 hours = 639.00 CAD Including Tax to complete @ local trani shop.

Total cost = 2154.43 CAD Tax Included

Ouch...******* CM (Clutch Masters -1000 reps) LOL

Your clutch is probably not even slipping you just dont know how to drive it. Read the thread on this it is very useful. I thought my clutch was slipping so I started driving it like an old woman, that made it worse. Than I read the thread on it and followed the instruction about shifting over 3k. It does wonders are cars are meant to be driven like performance cars not econo boxes...In closing higher revs = smoother non slipping shifts

The ONLY clutch I would put in my car is the Exedy one. The others have had problems out the ass. SPEC = COMPLETE garbage. Bully, I've heard REALLY bad and some good. ClutchMasters is giving refunds to everyone that bought thier clutch if that says anything.

Plain and simple though, if you think the stock clutch sucks you dont know how to drive. I have 38k on my car and have A TON of trips to the track and still no slip. The clutch thats in your car is the same company that Mallett uses for thier cars. It's a LUK unit, and they guys that built the cobalt time attack car say its good clutch too if you don't slip it all the time.

Take you car out and pretend you don't know how to drive stick and start from step 1. I had to do that with LSJ PUP and his clutch hasn't slipped on him in 10k.

i shift the car exactly like the article says take the car to the track and car slips 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. i spoke to a kid at the track that had spec 2+ says clutch holds good buy he has trouble shifting it. he also said its got some cable not adjusted correctly. not sure... alls i need to know is where to go from here. new clutch or sell car for GTO!!!????
