I have 10.5:1 diamond pistons also......I didn't have this problem though. Did you make sure the "F" was facing the front of the engine?

also are you sure you have the correct piston pn for the LSJ, sounds like the wrist pin is too low, also stock rods? and what was posted above, F towards front of motor?

you might need a new cam 2 with less of a grind but chances are you put them in backwards.

on the diamond pistons they punch an "F" on the top of the piston to let the installer know that it faces the front of the motor.

yeah and everything is installed right. either there the wrong pistons in the right box. i checked everything and they were the right pistons. so i have no idea. i will be calling diamond mon to try to get answers. i cant even turn the motor over by hand they are hitting the vavles. so i have no idea.

Could you have gotten the wrong rods maybe they are too long cause you said you had to have them pressed on right

motor is stock so timing was never messed with and they are factory rods.

Crazy question but......are you sure the cams didn't get switched around? IIRC the pistons sat a little higher than the block. I think it's called quench style....but mine never hit the valves.

If I was to take 2 guesses right now......I'd say either Pistons are facing the wrong way or the came got switched around.

You can see the little "F" here....make sure it is facing the front (timing chain) of engine

I stole this pic from SSweet06
