Need some feedback on Intense Kits.

Should I go straight w/ Stage 5 from Intense.
or go with Stage 3 and then Upgrade later.

nolimitzss06 06-15-2006 09:21 PM

i was thinking about going stage 5, but im gunna go stage 4. i got some feedback from guys on here and i dont think the stage 5 would be a good idea as an every day driver. but thats only my opinion..

Joewit 06-15-2006 09:28 PM

Stage 5 if you dont ever need to go back to stock and stage 3 if you want to be able to remove everything for warranty work.

mezzanno 06-15-2006 09:31 PM

go stage 5. I know i am soon and the whole realiability thing in my opinion is a bunch of crap. As long as you don't go wot at every single light all day long it won't affect the superchargers durability. plus the with the extra tourque you wouldn't even need to go wot to get your kicks.

zinner 06-15-2006 09:33 PM

Just go stage 3 and be happy.

VictoryRed06 06-15-2006 09:36 PM

stg 5 is the way to go. im gonna be doing it as soon as i can

05YELLOWSS 06-15-2006 09:46 PM

Going stage 5 in less than 3 weeks, let the count down begin to beer, chicks, and good ol american food...

Shortbus 06-15-2006 11:15 PM

Or you could go 2.5 pulley, 60lb/injectors, and hptuners.

sealy 06-16-2006 03:30 AM

i would agree with nolimitz, i'd go stage 4 for a daily driver...just my opinion.

Doc 06-16-2006 07:51 AM

I have the stage 4, I absolutely love it.
BTW get the flash/pcm for stage 4 from Intense and all you have to do (basically) is change the pulley to get stage 5 (and machine the snout).
I have 250hp and 240ftlbs tq and it hit 155mph in 4th on the dyno (with 20's) and this SOB snaps the tires loose anytime.

cybcow 06-16-2006 08:12 AM

Do a stage 4 with a 2.5" pulley. Basically a stage 5 without the ported supercharger.

Ramps 06-16-2006 03:11 PM

Whats the smallest pully you can fit on without changing the SC snout? I have HPtuner on order so i am in the same boat here.

I don't know if i want to go 2.8" and 42.5lb...or do i need the 60lb for sure?? Also with the intense tune does the bigger injectors kill the fuel economy at idle or when i am inching along in a traffic jam?? or did they shorten the pulse to still run efficient when you aren't boosting? If i can run a 2.7" with the stock snout i might do that.

CobaltBurst 06-16-2006 03:15 PM

you cant run a 2.7 on the stock snout.... and i havent noticed a drop in MPG... do 60lbers to be safe, might as well get them now instead of swapping out your 42.5 in the future...

06blackg85ss 06-16-2006 03:21 PM

if you get the zzp pulleys you can run down to a 2.6 on the stock snout

Ramps 06-16-2006 03:54 PM

Wow good to know. I think i will be getting the intense 60lb injectors + harness and their binary code and larger tensioner wheel. Then the ZZP 2.6" pulley. I didn't start this thread but it made up my mind!

cool, still go with the 60lb injectors though ;)

o4blackfire 06-16-2006 06:46 PM

Can you safely run the 42.5 injectors with a 2.7" pulley or is 2.8" as low as one should go with those injectors?
