Ok so im extremely new to working on cars. im following the how to guide for installing header and downpipe. Inthe exhaust manifold specifcations it says to torque the nuts down to 106lbs and it says 12Nm. when i look at my stupid wrench 12 NM seems to be about 10lbs torque. am i missing something

 

Well some specs specify lb-ft and others specify lb-in. In this case, 12 Nm is 106.2 lb-in or 8.8 lb-ft on your torque wrench.

Just hand-tighten them then torque down to spec. You'll thank yourself for not going gorilla on them when it comes time to take them off.

 

doh! i didnt see the "in" and "ft" i thought it was all measured in ftlbs stupid me.
