Need some info before i buy Intense kit

Hey guys ok I have more or less decided to go and get the intense kit for my SC.
But there are a few things i need to know about it.

First: if I do get it, is it imperative to do the boost bypass mod ( kinda don't wanna F with that)

Second: Which plugs are best and what is best gap for this kit?

Third: Has anyone ahd any prblems with this kit other than the occasional KR which is minnimum at best?

Thanks to all who respond if you wanna leave me an email with more detailed info on this kit about its pro's and cons please do. My email is the_big_kruh@hotmail.com. Thx again all

yes its required
autolites intense sells gapped .045
If you have an 04 redline there is problems. Also some issues with throttle surging and hiccups. Very minor though.

If you dont do the boost bypass how are you going to take advantages of all the air coming in witht he new pulley. Trust me its required. I have the kit on my car

OK look at you s/c. See the big black thing on top that kinda looks like a fat flying saucer. That is the bypass valve actuator. Look at it there are 2 hoses going to it. Grab the bottom hose (if you follow it back it leads to a solenoid) and remove it from the actuator. you can plug this or leave it open. I personally installed a manual boost controller inline between the 2 and closed it off do the boost can be vented and I can turn it down if needed.

right but it's not like the kit won't work at all. i just don't know how i feel about the bypass mod in relation to the life of some of the related components and their intended/designed usage.

Well with the intense kit you are adding additional fuel. If you add fuel but dont add air your just going to bog out. You need that extra air. GTP owners have been overspinning these things for years with no problems.

If you are to worried about the life of parts and do not want to do the bypass mod I think the intense kit is not for you. The only reason the boost bypass is there to begin with is becuase the stock injectors can't handle boost levels above 12-12.5. In order to keep the car from leaning out with stock injectors the car dumps the boost. With the intense kit you will not have a shortage of fuel and can disable the bypass.

I think the car will actually run worse without the bypass mod done because the computer will dump your extra boost causing it to run really rich in the upper rpms.

gotcha, see now that makes sense. all the other stuff i've been reading hasn't described it quite that clearly for me, but that was great, i thank you.

so what is the advantage/disadvantage of doing the bypass on a stock setup?

You're welcome. There is no advantage to doing it on a car with the stock pulley.

Yes the bypass mod has to be done with the kit otherwise you run rich and boost is limited to stock levels like others have mentioned.

ok. question. If I get just a 3" pulley and 1 step colder plugs, then I do the boost bypass, do I need to get injectors, or will it lean out at all. ZZP said that with a 3" you dont need new injectors, but I dont think they included a bypass mod to it either...help...

You can run a 3" with stock injectors but you still need to do they bypass to take full advantage of the extra boost the smaller pulley can make. All the bypass consists of is blocking of a hose to the boost bypass controller.
