the snout is not the same length as the m62. I'm sure it would be fine to run on your stage 2. It'll be pushing more air into the engine and making less boost

As far as I know... noone has come up with an adapter plate that will mount a M90 onto an Ecotec engine... especially the LSJ.

Also... the M90 majorly outperforms the M62 in terms of CFM flowed. You'd have to run a bigger pulley on it to avoid blowing the engine.

ok...we already discussed this and found it wont work...as the psi goes up its actually harder for the m90 to turn.
incase nobody believes me here is my original post...

My point is... slapping the 2.5" pulley on the M90 is engine suicide...

Not to mention those are for gen 3 blowers...we have a gen v m62...only the 04 and up impala s/c and gtp have the gen v m90

Maybe add a louvered heatshield for max performance

WTF? I don't know where you pulled those "equations" from, but its just stupid to say that swapping to a M90 will make you LOSE power.

Just do your research. Show me ONE example where someone swapped to a larger blower and lost power (not couting adding some rediculous large blower from a tank or something). But thats just crazy.

Go check the Grand Prix boards. Some of the fastest cars upgraded from the M90 to M112, or have the Kenne Bell blower.

The amount of BS floating around on this board is staggering....

You supply me with a M90 and I'll make an adapter plate and sell it to anyone and then I'll show you how much power it makes, or lack there of. Did you not notice that the M90 requires over 50hp to turn it at max rpms?! Yeah...our M62 only requires 35hp...thats 20 right there. Then compare delta temps and how much of a larger cfm it really is...DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT! Just start searching the numerous threads about this already...just because moving from a M90 to a M112 is beneficial doesn't mean anything as to M62 to M90...

M62-Inlet Flow and Vol. Efficiency

M90-Inlet Flow and Vol. Efficiency

M62-Delta Temps and Power

M90-Delta Temps and Power

SoCal, where you get your graphs? Seem different than these ones.

Ur a gtp guy u should know this...they only swap to a gen v or mp112 on HIGHLY MODIFIED engines. On the sites it states how the gain will not be there/hurt performance if u swap to it

Hell...with temps and power requirements...maybe grand prix's should use the Gen V M62! ha ha ha

Dan, what about a M112 swap on the LSJ??? Seriously...it takes a lot of power to turn, but around 900cfm maxing out around...for the price though, I think I'd just go for a 1.5L KB for the ford escape...

Alright here is the deal. Enough talk, someone make an adaptor plate, get HPT and 60lb injectors, and put an M90 on their car. These threads are getting old, and some people need to see the "proof in the pudding" so to speak. I however will not do it, because I think it's a waste of my time. I have emails out to several companies and distruibutors for a twinscrew type supercharger instead of the roots. When I get ahold of what I want, I will then make my own adaptor plate and post the end results after a tuning it all together. Then we can compare to see what works better.

also keep in mind one of the reasons for that is that those engines are so limited by the amount they can flow ...our 16v`s can flow a hell of alot of air

i was thinking about swaping the m62 our for a phat toaster, preferably one with 4 slots, so i can make pop-tarts and egos on my way to work. would you be able to fab me up an adaptor plate for somthing like that... if i sent you the toasters demensions and whatnot?

Sure, send me a CAD layout ...you want an electric blower going into that also?

Honestly guys, it has been looked over and discussed dozens of times. Read around, there is TONS of viable information in the other threads to sway you away from it...many of us just get bored of rewriting all the details. M90<M62
