I don't have the intake installed but most likely the only way you would get a cel is if you over oil the filter. If you use an AEM dryflow you have no chance of doing that.

injen ftw. Never had a problem and never oiled it. I heard many problems with the K&N with messing the maf up. Injen is the best when it comes to oiled filters

Just remember that the aem cai is only the filter and one lower peice. Some sights don't have the full description listed- It does replace the entire intake pipe! It seems pricey for what it is but it works well and looks stock when you open the hood if you like to be sneaky about stuff. Also the air bypass valve is not designed for the 2.0 ss/sc.

The AEM dryflow requires no oil. It works great! I've had mine for a few months now. The part number is 21-2110DK You need the 5 inch element with the 3.25 inch inlet.

I think autoanything.com has them and if not there check your local autozone, napa, advanced, Oreilys, etc etc. They can probably get it for you if they don't have one.

The AEM will work on any CAI you just may have to get a different size inlet on the filter. I'm sure the other filters out there are fine as long as you are careful with the oil but the AEM is really hassle free and fool proof.

The reason i am bashing K&N is casue when i dont bother to clean to filter so i dont over oil it so i just buy new filters. Then when i take off the pipe to clean my MAF out and all i see in the the pipe is FILTER OIL !!!!!! and when my maf looks like **** then when i wash the pipe out its dirty as hell i belive i earned myself the room to bash them. and FYI i do have the drycharger and did it install it right.

....ignorance. Everyone blames the filter/oil when in fact some people have had the same issues with dryflow filters (they are slightly oiled too, I don't care what research you read otherwise) using DIFFERENT intakes besides K&N, every intake is the same, that's the cut dry version, they use the same routing methods, all of the intakes are the same piping and all, only difference is some have dry filters (still oiled slightly) and some have oiled filters.

I cracked open a Fujita and the MAF was contaminated with a AEM dry flow filter on the end. Foreign susbstances ending up on ths filter from god knows what kind of driving and the car will suck that in as well getting the MAF dirty and getting incorrect readings.. Everyone should know the risks the momment they use an intake with an exposed filter at the end rather then the incapsulated filter in the stock airbox.

Best way to take good care of the intake system

1. Take apart intake, put a clean sock or rag at the end of the TB
2. Electric parts cleaner on the MAF to spray off cake on substances (allow to dry)
3. Clean filter (Depending on cleaning Methods) , Allow to dry
4. Dip intake pipings into parts cleaner or simply use water to spray out dirt and allow to dry.
5. Clean TB if necessary
6. reattach unit and let it idle for 10 minutes to air/break in cleaned unit.
67. Let er rip!

I've never had a CEL from my intake other then letting my buddy drive one day and he ran the car thru a puddle. Cleaned it the very next day. All was fine.

Too many misconceptions about people and this intake. Maybe if the half the world didn't buy an intake K&N won't be a popular choice. Anyone i've known in person or on the computer make K&N the first choice for intakes. Every car reads things differently. You should know this by now.
