New exhaust louder than I'd like
Just got the full CTI 3" exhaust put on and its a little louder than I'd like, is there a different resonator or something I can get that will quiet it down a little? Also it bangs somewhere in the rear over bumps and what not (have read this is a common issue) what can be done to prevent this as well?
That is something I myself am not interested in doing. It cost the same $ and takes the same amount of time to install a 2.5" or 3" exhuast. It's a trade off. So unless you care more about db levels then performance why limit your build by putting on a exhaust that will limit you down the road depending on how you far you plan to mod your car. I'll be the first to say my car is stupid loud but that is something I knew would happen.
could be as simple as either an extra hanger or a shorter or longer hanger depending on where it's hitting. If it's hitting the body, longer hanger. If it's hittin the suspension, you'll need a shorter one.

First you gotta buy it(obviously) and then take it to ur local muffler shop unless you can do the cut/weld work yourself and just cut the old one out and the additional length for the new one to fit in and weld it back together.
So, if it has an 18" res in there now and say you got a 24, you'd have to cut X" off the exhaust pipe to make it fit in there. Best bet is to mach up to new res next to your exhaust and make marks where you'd wanna cut. If you take too much out, it'd be a pain to weld in pieces to make it fit. If ur not comfortable or know how to do this work, muffler shop is the best idea

Yeah it would definitely be an exhaust shop doing the work... I am unsure what the CTI exhaust comes with as far as a res goes... Hopefully I can get one that will quiet it down a bit as well as maybe a different hanger to make it not bang around in the rear.
If you take it to an exhaust shop, they should be able to fix everything in about an hour. It's not rocket science to figure out why the exhaust is bangin or what it's hitting so it'd be a quick fix. The res is what would take most of the time. No matter what you do tho, that exhaust is going to be loud, esp if ur running header, dp, and then the full 3". Headers usually wake them up quite a bit even on a stock exhaust

I still have the 2.5 over the axel and I'm on stock suspension so uh....I have no problem at all with exhaust. But I've had issues with the exhaust hitting the suspension in other cars I've had.
