new gasket when you take off supercharger

do you need a new gasket when you take the supercharger off
im going to be porting the blower but the stupid dealer isnt gonna get a gasket till
next tuesday and i need to get it done before speed way on saturday

yepp you do! when i took off my blower i had to get a new gasket



Mods: Injen CAI, ARK 2.5 inch catback exhaust, downpipe w/o cat, GMP Extrude Honed Header, meth injection walbro fuel pump, stage 3, 42# injectors, 2.7 pulley, ported blower, Spec stage 2 clutch B&M short throw shifter, powder coated black stock wheels, Eibach sportline springs, Eibach sway bars, ca traction bars, DC front and rear strut bars, 3 gauge pod piller, plx wideband, autometer boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, and water temp gauge, halo projectors, 12000K hid kit, 5% tent... and more mods to come!

no, you dont unless you somehow ruin the stock gasket in the process (which is hard to do as the stock one is metal.) i have removed and installed many blowers on these cars and retained the stock gasket.

you can reuse it but i would go ahead and replace it just to avoid any problems. yes it is metal, but its pretty flimsy metal so if it bends at all its useless. i would just replace it to avoid complications later on

No you dont need to replace it unless you bend it while removing the supercharger. You can get them from Cobaltperformanceparts.com for like 28 bucks.

honestly it depends what kind of shape it's in. no one can answer the question without seeing it. you'll know if it needs to be replaces though.
