Smile New and In need of help/info/pointers/a lot

Just joined the forum and just bought a beautiful 2007 SS in Feb. of this year. Before this car I had a Dodge Stealth R/T and didn't have much time or money to much work with it. I always loved cars and wished I had more chances to work with and around them. I absolutely love my new car and plan on baby her until death due us part.

It had 2 previous owners, a 2 year lease followed by a 2 year ownership. Than was traded in to a local dealership. I golf with a Chevy dealer and he had his mechanic look at it when i bought it. She is very clean but what looks to have upgrades of different kinds. The mechanic wasn't able to give me any type of detailed list of what was done to it.

How can I find out exactly what was done to it? I know probably by just looking at certain things, but I really just know basic information when it comes to cars SO FAR. I really want to know my car inside and out and learn what she has already and what I can still do to upgrade, maintain, and perfect it. I can provide pictures and try to do anything that you guys recommend me to do to try and find out all of this information, I just need some proper guidance.

Many thank you's to anyone who took the time to read through this and even more thanks to anyone that helps me out!

stock boost is 12.5
i forget if different fuel injectors have different cap colors, if thats the case i'd pull off that 'supercharged' cover off the engine to see what color they are
where does your clutch bite at?

take pics of the engine bay and post em! (through photobucket IMG codes)

and welcome to the forum

ok so you have a 2.8" pulley, probably 60# injectors, a k&n intake, and probly a full zzp exhaust, can't tell for sure.

not a bad setup, fine for a daily driver get some cooling mods

can you tell if there's an aftermarket heat exhanger (like a radiator)?

Look like a few mods... from what I see: K&N Intake, ZZP pulley (probably smaller), ZZP downpipe and a Megan Racing exhaust

ZZP is a good company

I have to head out for school until tonight but i can still chat when i get a chance while at school.

I will try to check color caps tomorrow morning first thing. My clutch engages about 1/4 the way off wayyyyyyy closer to the floor than my stealth was.

Welcome to the forum. Riceburner and iToastie hit it on the head with what it looks like you have. Most like 60# injectors. At wot what does your boost gauge read? Have any gauges besides boost? And take a pic of the front of your car where we can see your radiator or heat exchanger through the bumper.

yup you also have a zzp heat exchanger. good to have, helps keep your intake manifold coolant cool.

speaking of that, you should check to see how many nipples are on your intake manifold endplate. this is located on the drivers side of the intake manifold which is right under your supercharger. theres two hoses going to it stock but if you have a dual pass its 3.

wow. lots of mods. that is a ZZP Heat exchanger (someone correct me if i'm wrong). also whatever I toastie said I agree with. You still need to figure out injectors to see exactly what stage your performance is and such since your running what looks like a 2.8 pully. I have a 3.1 stage 2 from ZZP and I love it. Yours could be stage 3. Very nice though. post pics of the whole car!

Not quite sure how to read the boost gauge but when the car is turned off it sits at the bottom half @ 18 about... No other gauges although I have been told the stock gauge blows and I should replace it along with additional gauges... Is this true?

Only real replacement for stock boost is mechanical. Otherwise, it's fine.
Interceptor, Wideband, and boost is a typical gauge setup on an LSJ.

So in response to your prior two posts

I will try and take a look when I leave class today hopefully it won't be too dark, from what I'm thinking I have to look under the K&N intake for hoses running to what the intake is connected too?

And my exhaust purrrrrs like a kitten if you were to ask me ahahahah other people might say its really loud and can hear me coming a mile away

So I'm very thankful for everyone's insight and help!!!

I still need to check how many "nipples" I have going to my intake manifold and what color my fuel injectors are, which is found if I take off the plate with the supercharged badge on the engine right?. If I missed anything else I still need to check for info plz let me know.

How can I decide on what actual stages car is at, I feel there wasn't a definitive answer for this

Lastly, after seeing all of what I already have, what should be my checklist of mods to be done next? I want my girl to be nothing to **** with

Heres a link to the build book. Its a good read. You appear to have a zzp stage 3 kit. A zzp downpipe and megan racing exhaust. 2nd link is for the kit. It used to come with 60lb injectors but comes with 50lb now.

Can you get a picture of the between the top of the motor and the firewall. I want to see if you have a header on it or the stock manifold.

Next mod should be some trans mounts for sure. Wheel hop is horrible without them.
