New Spec Clutch....?

So I am finally getting around to ordering a new clutch for my SC.

I have narrowed it down to ordering a Clutch from SPEC.

What I am unsure of is should I order the Stage 2+ or just go with the Stage 3+?

Is there really that big of a difference?

I am also ordering the "Aluminum Flywheel" but there is an option for a

"Billet Steel Pressure Plate Option"....What is this for?

I want to order it as well but is it necessary?

bumpity bump.

need advice ya'll I'm ordering it tonight.

Stage 3 is a little much IMO. Not really intended for a DD. I would get the Stage 2 plus.

I guess it all depends on what your preference is. My friend has Stage 3 and he likes it. And my other friend has Stage 2 and likes it. Either one is a good choice.

I just did a stage 2 and I like it one of the guys that helped my put my clutch in has a 3+ and he loves it. I'm sure if i would have went with a 2+ or even a 3 or 3+ i would have like that just as well. Just remembe when you put in a new clutch its almost like learning to drive your car again.

It takes a few days to get used to it again... it grabs harder and faster, and you have to figure out the catch point of the clutch again...

I disagree. I have the Stage 3+ and use it for daily driving. I dont find it too much at all. Get the Stage 3+ you wont regret it.

The stage 3 plus is the clutch not a flywheel.

Why would you order a new pressure plate? I used the one that came with the Spec stage 3+ clutch. I'm the guy that Blue Viper talked about with the Spec stage 3+ clutch and Spec flywheel. I also spent the extra $75 and paid for the lightweight option. It's a great clutch! I love it. It does make it a little difficult to go from the LSJ to the LE5 (my other Cobalt SS) with the stock clutch. It's almost like you can't feel the stock clutch. The 3+ clutch is stiffer, but it loosens a little as it is being broken in. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Good clutch you picked... either that or the Exedy Single Hyper would have been my choice.

Yes, the Exedy Hyper Single or the SPEC Stage 2+/3+ are the ultimate choice
