New to supercharger scene

Hi i just joined the forum and i have never owned or really even been around a supercharged car i know alot about turbo'd cars but not much about supercharged ones, for example i know turbos run off exhaust gases so freeing up exhaust backpressure would help to produce more power. And i know the rule of thumb for any motor is getting more fuel and air into it, what area should a person with a supercharger concentrete on the intake area?

boosted engines, weather its supercharged or turbo respond simularly to mods. freeing up the exaust to allow more air flow will always make some more power. however, were a turbo motor likes the biggest exaust possible a supercharged motor doesnt if you still want to maintain your low end torque. for most bolt ons, the cobalt likes a 2 1/2" exaust, if your going farther 3" would be better. also a header is a good upgrade as a stock manifold is restrictive.

as for the intake side of things, the airbox mod works quite well (search, there is tons on it) and a cold air intake isnt really needed. ther is always the more boost thing on both turbo and blown motors, just the way you up the boost is different (wastegate controller vs changing pulleys). with upping the boost, you have to be concerned about fuel delivery (injectors and fuel pump) and charge cooling. we have an air to water intercooler built into the intake, for more info on improving the system search for "heat exchanger" and "dual pass end plate"

If your more familiar with turbo's many people such as my self converted to turbo from SC. It's something to think about.

There is also one more option to consider. ZZP just released their twin charged set up which allows us to reap the benefits of both turbocharged and supercharged systems combined. No turbo lag, high torque numbers through out the entire rpm range, easily attained high horsepower, and even an excellent top speed I would assume. You can go to the ZZP vendor forum and learn just about anything you want or go to zzp's website at www.zzperformance.com

We got ya covered bro!
