The Nitrous Question

Did a quick search found a couple threads pertaining to my question's.

For the cobalt ss s/c guy's running nitrous or anyone knowledgeable in regards to nitrous:

2007 Cobalt SS S/C

I am looking to run a 35 shot

Mods= CAI

Dry or Wet?

Recommended kit?

Looking for something reasonable in price....

If you are not a fan of nitrous don't reply to this thread, I'm not looking to get bashed.

If you really feel it necessary to bash me, yes I am trying to blow up my engine

Go wet, its much easier and works better when you want to up the shot.

50 shot or smaller and you will be fine.

Honestly, all kits are pretty much the same, cheaper kits bring cheaper components, but it all works. More money spent up front brings longer lasting parts. I prefer Holley/NOS brand kits, as they use stainless steel hardware instead of chromed brass, and thier solenoids are a little better than average. Sniper kits are Holley's 'budget' kit, with cheaper parts, but all thier other stuff is really nice.

depending on your mods you may want to consider a stage 3 pcm.

Same as Holley Pro or whatever they are, the big *******. They flow a ton of juice, but they draw a shitload of power and are overkill for 90% of people. They are also much more expensive (nearly $200 each new..) and are more expensive to rebuild and require more attention to keep them perfect.

Love hearing that massive click when they engage though, sounds like a damn starter solenoid.

Very reliable if tuned correctly. 50 shot on a 2.9 or bigger and Stage 2 tune or milder, will be fine. Custom tune is always recommended, required for larger shots due to the advanced timing in the Stage tunes.

Check it and see. Should be good, may need a little more than that from stage timing. It varies from car to car.

If you have Meth, it should make it that much easier. Just log the car on the bottle, make sure your a/f stays where you want it and there is no knock, and you should be fine.

If you are tuned for meth, adjust for a/f on bottle with jetting though, so you don't run too rich on meth off bottle. A .01 size change in fuel jetting does a lot though, so it might be easier to add or take out a little nitrous if need be.

The meth is tuned to the car. I thought that a 50 shot would be ok for "every now and then". I'm not talking about every day or even once a week. Just whenever needed like at the track.
So you do think it would be fine with meth?

Sure, a 50 shot isn't that much. Just watch your wideband and knock, if anything looks or feels funny, back out of the spray.
