No more clogged cat!!!!

I just wanted to let you all know that I discovered what my problem was with my car. If you dont remember, my car had become VERY VERY quiet, more quiet than it was when stock and it was the same performance level as a near stock SS/SC. Well today my new GM downpipe came in and when my mechanic pulled off my old downpipe he tipped it up and a huge pile of stuff came out. From what we could tell, the front of the cat broke apart and got lodged in the back half of the cat causing it to clog VERY BAD.

Well needless to say with my new downpipe my car sounds like sex and runs better than it ever has. Also, I went back to my stock spark plugs and the car runs GREAT with them!

I also ordered a Midlength ZZP header/dp combo and it should be here in a week or so according to ZZP.

I just wanted to give yall a update!

mine was doing the same thing, when i bought it that is, just running like dog ****, so i revved it up a little bit, and a chunk of carbon and insides of the cat came flying out, and it runs a lot better now, but im still redoing the car, so i still need a new cat, but it might still be under warranty, so thats even better

ZZP makes downpipes.

I personally just gutted my stock cat. Worked very well.

im all stock right now, i actually bought the car wrecked, really easy fix though, asi am a a body guy my self, it is a salvaged title, but only 12,000 miles, so its all stock right now, but i figured since im going to be needing a cat anyways. Granted i might just get it done free from warranty, but we will see, when u can get more gains doing something else, y not right?

yeah i will probably just go hi flow then, it will be to much of a pain in the ass, for the catless anyway i can imagine, plus the CEL is just annoying when it is always on

GM puts warranty blocks on all salvage title vehicles so i'm not to sure they will warranty the cat . Good luck thou .

I had been suspecting a clogged cat for some time on my car due to how quiet it was. I have the same exhaust set up on my balt as a very close friend of mine and I got my exhaust 1000 miles before him and from the day he put his on it was louder. What sucked about my cat was that the front of the cat broke apart and got lodged on the back half of the cat so it couldnt free itself and go out the tail pipe, thus causing extreme clogging.

Also I found out that we share the same downpipe as the sabb 9-3. When the parts guy handed me my DP it was all stickered up with sabb stuff. I thought it was pretty neat. Anyways, I just got back from alittle cruising and I cant believe how good the GMPP sport cat-back sounds. It sounds amazing for a 4 banger.

I cant wait to get my header and catless DP!!

Thanks for all the kind words guys and gals!
